Default Imagine if Michael Jordan choked in the playoffs ...

... every year. How many people here would still consider him to be the best basketball player to ever play the game?

    If so, why?

If not, why do so many of you consider ARod to be one of the greatest despite his didsappearing act every October? I know pinstripes are supposed to be slimming, but this is ridiculous!

    ARod isn't going anywhere...

He will go down as the greatest baseball player to ever live.

You are right. He isn't going anywhere, especially in October. Way to avoid the question, though. Sort of like ARod avoiding hitting the ball in the playoffs ...

(and the day he is thought to be a better player than someone who batted .342 lifetime with 714 HR's AND a 14 inning shutout pitched in a World Series game will be quite the day ... can't wait to see that)

Mike didn't choke, A-Rod? Great Stats, but give me The Mick any day.

Give me Scott Brosius any day. He actually didn't quit playing baseball when October started up ...

AROD will probably be considered the best to play, but how many championships will he have?

A-Rod will go down as a great HR hitter and that is all, no clutch hitter or no winner

    NOT A GREAT HITTER

I was dumb enough to bet the Tankees vs. Indians in game 2 last season.... A-fRod comes up twice with a runner on 2nd and proceeds to strikeout out both times on 7 pitches. He had a chance to change the outcome of that series but failed again. He did hit a meaningless HR in game 4 while down by 6 runs.

He has what, 1 postseason RBI in 90 at-bats, since game 3 of 2004 ALCS? He's an absolute fraud in post season.

But there's another fraud who is almost as bad as he is. Vladimir Guerrero. Look at his post season numbers.... they are terrible. He's lucky he doesn't play in NYC.

The Yanks will win a world series before A-rod retires. While thus far he hasn't been special in the playoffs the old line of "even a broken clock has the right time twice a day" will come into play and he will get it together once or twice - but no more than that.

That is all it takes to be an all time great JJ. When the greatest player debate takes place, Ruth and Hank are up there because of their home run numbers. I don't anything about championships when discussing those two.

There is a name for that, its called Dominique Wilkins, or all hat no cattle. Great in baseball has a different definition than great in basketball. Basketball players are more influencing than baseball players because it is one of 5 versus 1 of 9, and you cannot pitch around great basketball players.

Much harder to take over and control a game in MLB than it is in the NBA
