Lightbulb Giants -130 tomorrow night!? Are you kidding me?!

The line at TheGreek right now is Giants -130.....ummmm Okay!

Tim Lincecum has got to be the most undervalued starting pitcher in baseball or I am a complete fool for falling into a massive trap.

I know the Giants have loads of trouble scoring runs. But the way Tim Lincecum has been pitching it hasnt mattered. Lincecum has dominant stuff. He can literaly throw a no hitter on any given day. He just has to cut down on his walk total so he can keep his pitch count low. Last outing he threw 121 pitches in just 6 1/3 innings. He threw a 97 MPH fastball on his 121st pitch. The dude can hurl.

    The following is from AllStarStats:

Lincecum opening the season 4-0 qualifies as one of the most amazing feats of 2008. The Giants have scored more than three runs in just one of his five starts, but they've won all five anyway. They're 5-13 when he doesn't pitch. Lincecum has a 1.23 ERA and a 36/14 K/BB ratio in 29 1/3 innings.

I can see Lincecum dominating the more right handed Rockies lineup in this one. If the Giants can score just 2 runs vs Aaron Cook, the Giants will win this.

Rockies have a tough time with Matt Cain AND Lincecum. Holliday is the only one hitting right now.
    Giants win.

I don't think he's undervalued at all. Kid's great, no doubt, but I think the -130 price tag is a result of how well he's pitched. The Giants have only been higher than a -130 fave once this season (Lincecum/Pineiro two weeks ago), so I don't think this line is at all surprising. Say what you want about the Rockies - their early season struggles were in many ways predictable - but SF being -130 is realistic. Lincecum's only made it through 7 once in his 4 starts, so the Giants' dreadful pen will play a part in this game.

Also, -130 is the worst number currently available.

I'm not saying I like the Rocks (I'm not really interested in either side), but I think the number is accurate.

What were you expecting the line to be?

Well I am using 5dimes and greek now and 5 dimes doesnt have the line out yet.

I expected to see Giants -145 in this game (@SF).

What would you make the line if this game was in Colorado? Lincecum vs Cook.

Wait for 5Dimes to open. You'll get a better number than -130.

    Good luck.

I love when people make threads like these as if they're outraged by a number yet it's the worst price available.

Since when is a 4.48 ERA "dreadful"?

Moving Zito to the pen doesn't help at all.

ROCKIES HAVE LOST HOW MANY IN A ROW , 7 of their last 8 ??? if you take sf and col wins and had been losing on col by taking them in their losing streak that would leave a scar maybe , for awhile anyway . i had rockies tonight so now if the mo fos win tomorrow , haha . like the bjays avoiding the sweep at the royals after tor looked like they would hit like dead fish for awhile .
this game has nothing to do with lincecum maybe pitching great , but was just saying ... for those that go to games live and really watch and take it all in know these ****in baseball game can be simply anybodys game any day . when i was just at the reds for some games it was no diiifferent than if we got together on a big ass PERFECT FIELD and picked teams .
watched cueto , he was strutting around like he was a prima dona or something . seriously , berkman jacked his ass and that shit really let me know alot of thing , seein em and feelin em . though there is superior talent like berkman seeing the ball extremely well and straight connecting on it IS TALENT . can other guys do this ? yeah , why are they so inconsistent ? haha
really , watching those games put me in the mindset big time that these baseball games on this big ass field are straight up anybody's game on any given day .
the dude cassell for the stroes made the reds look like dodo , who the heck is cassell , yeah , didn't matter what his name was , he got the job done just like any big name pitcher does and is considered one of the best for doing ...
reds made some mistakes on the bases yes , but he pitched great really .
anyway , there is probably more I could go deeper into the way it really works in mlb , but i do know for a fact that people OVERVALUE TEAMS BECAUSE OF WHAT THEIR NAMES ARE MORE SO THAN LOOKING AT IT FROM IT'S NO DIFFERENT THAN A PICKUP GAME ON A BIG ASS PERFECT FIELD SOMEWHERE , TEAM A VS TEAM B , SBR VS THE OMNI HOTEL , CoEd LeAgUe .

well , really it is having hitters GET HOT at the same time close to each other in the batting order ... the big inning and it's game over , that 1 inning !
sorry to take focus off g-men , am high . lol

liking the dodgers brew , indians , rangers , angels .

But super pitchers can always neutralize super bats. Thats what baseball is. The best pitchers will have more success against the best hitters than vice versa.

Obviously it doesnt always work this way. But I will take my chances that it will work this way in this one.

I actually think the Under is the play. People are overlooking the fact that Cook has had four straight good starts too since his first start, and he now has a 1.03 WHIP in 34 innings.

yes , true that . this game will be something . i personally would fade giants no matter who is starting playing the #s game for both teams , due to lose , due to win , SOMEWAY SOMEHOW the perfection in the w/l column for giant wins when starting pitcher x starts hits the L column , killing the perfection it held so dear 4- 0 goes to 4 - 1 .
If giants win , will be one helluva call ! gl

UNDER is always a solid play with Lincecum going.

We nailed the UNDER 6.5 last start vs Young. (1-0 final)
