I cut my unit sizes way down...taking a day off from the daily grind is always helpful as well. Never a bad thing to refresh and clear your mind since losing can get into your head and effect handicapping.

Yeah maybe take a few days off and take the wife out to dinner.. keep me from thinking about the loss, It helps to talk about it with a fellow gambler

I must have went 0-5 or 0-6 Froday, it sucks but those weekends will always be sprinkled in there. All you can do is try not to chase, taking time away doesn't really help all that much at least for me, it would just give me more time to be pissed over the results. Just keep at it.

Take a few weeks off, it will be better than a few days. And yes take the wife out and spend some quality time with her, I am sure she has been put on the backburner lately. More to life than gambling.

Not sure about other posters here but if I lose money I basically can't think about anything else until I get that money back. Have to remember though that you have to resist the urge to chase and try to get the money back.
Start new tomorrow and keep your bets the same size that you always do. One or two wins under your belt will start getting your confidence back and then you can get it back from there.
The best cure to losing money is to win some back even if its a small amount
Hope that makes sense. This mavs game has been putting me to sleep

30 +years of gambling , I can relate to almost every scenario.

Best to cool off for awhile and spend quality time with the lady.

Whatever you do, DON'T CHASE! The chase bet more often than not ends up as a loser. I broke that rule today, got hammered in bases, decided I'd put more than I was going to on the San Jose Sharks ML tonight. Ended up a loser, so now I'm down even more for the day.

What's with everyone betting the Sharks? They choke every year in the playoffs. Detroit/Dallas are proven playoff teams.

i was one of those people who learned that "chasing" doesn't work the hard way...just reiterating what mostly everyone else has said, which is either take a couple of days off and do the things non-gambling related that make you happy which will put things in perspective.....

Lately whenever I'm way down I simply go down to the bank and pull a gun on the teller and say listen bitch I just put 3k on Boston Celtics ML against the Atlanta Hawks, now someone told me that the Celtics were the best team in the NBA and that the Hawks couldn't beat my grandmother's bridge club so I'd just like a refund for that bet. I'm up thousands with this new system.

Blew my entire bankroll on Saturday and Sunday, thanks to poor money management again. Had good two weeks prior to this one, so I'd probably wait until round 2 before playing again, too unpredictable to handicap at this point. Betting on Arena football and baseball didn't help matters either as I was just guessing on those games.

If you bet everyday you are going to get buried and have horrible runs, if you make a few plays a week you never get buried. Books do not want SPOT bettors because of this.

Cut your units to at least 1/10 of your normal size and get back in the zone with confidence. Then slowly up your units as you start winning again.
