    Default Have you ever....

Ok here is my dilemma I use a local and he has been solid. Settle no problem, Most I ever collected was little more than 2 dimes This week I am up 4 dimes and worried that this may be a little out of this guys league so I figure I can

    1. Stop now as to not build it any higher
2.Not worry and just keep playing
    3. Try to pick a few losers and drop a dime and a half in hopes that he will settle that instead of disappearing and I get nothing

Has anyone ever intentionally dropped games because they knew they'd get stiffed if their balance was too high?

I know exactly how you feel about the situation. I had the same situation and no way in hell I would intentionally lose. I felt even if he couldn't pay me all at once I would work something out with him. It turned out he owed me 4,500 and settled a week later than usual. He had to collect and wait for other money coming in. I was nervous thinking the same thing you are thinking but it worked out for me. Good luck

No way that I would lose on purpose...if you are worried about it call him up and see if he will settle up early. I would personally keep playing.

I've never bet with a local but if he's paid you in the past, then he's probably going to pay you in the future. Probably best to directly address the situation with him or request small payouts (i.e. 4 payments of a $1000).

If not, you should file a police report immediatly and then try to recover financial damages in small claims court against this guy.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I will call him tomorrow and try to get at least a dime of it and throw it offshore so I can make some plays and see how he reacts, kind of get a read on whether he seems like he will be able to cover the full amount by settle up day.

Since I am on a little roll I will say tomorrow I like Cavs ML and will be playing it

This is why you play at a trusted, secure, been-around-for-years offshore book that doesn't bat an eye in paying out dimes.

I know some people are just deadset on using locals, but if you don't even trust the guy to pay you 4 dimes you are not with the right man..
