Posted the below on the Sticky thread re the NFL Draft Contest. The prize money would have been OK (tho not enough to make anyone new sign up) if the contest had been a lot simpler.


While I am something of a Draftnik, I agree with crazyl that this is far to complicated a set-up to make it worthwhile, and not worth all the sheer guessing and typing considering the prize monies.

The first ten picks would have been suffiicient, with a tie-breaker maybe on who trades out of that 1st 10.

Or maybe the first half, ie 1st 16 picks. You won't need more than that to break ties.

This was constructed by someone who doesn't know much about the NFL draft.

One of the secondary rules about picking the first player to be chosen in each of the rounds is just lunacy - unless SBR/BOL are expecting several million entries.

No, that contest is successful. And free to frequent posters.

These complex rules are valid only if a few million entries are expected.

BTW, a friend of the rules-writer (who I'm sure is a terrific human being and superb 'capper in his other life) takes off after me (and you, in a world-class non-sequitur) in a post on the Sticky contest thread.

I'm assuming Mofome wrote the contest, just because that's the only person Cee feels the need to speak up for. I have no problem with Mofo or his NFL knowledge like the little kissass Cee indicated, hell I wasn't even aware he made the contest, I just didn't like how the contest was setup..

Right, mo is a good guy, was pushing for a draft contest, and does know football.

He just didn't think out all the variables of this particular contest, this situation.
