    Arrow ***SBR NFL Draft CONTEST***

-The more entries, the better the prize-

    Rules:

All Players must have an account at Bet Online. Sign up here.

Contestants must Private message their account ID prior to making picks to SBRforum Staff or email Staff@SBRforum.com

    Part #1:

    • Post your mock draft; the person who gets the most points wins.
    • You get 2 points for every pick that is exactly correct.
    • You get 1 point if your selection misses by one spot either too early or too late.
    • This portion ends at the last pick of round one.

    Part #2:

You get two points for correctly guessing the first player taken in any of the following six rounds. You will attempt to correctly guess the first player taken in round 2, round 3, round 4, round 5, round 6, and round 7.

    Part #3:

(3 points) This portion will be to correctly guess exactly what spot a certain player is drafted in. We will name the player, you will guess what spot he goes overall in the draft. Only a correct answer wins, being close doesn't get you any points.

    Tiebreaker:

The tiebreaker will be to correctly guess exactly what spot a certain player is drafted in. We will name the player, you will guess what spot he goes overall in the draft. The closest guess wins.

This contest will grade the picks by the position in the draft in which the players were taken, not by the team they were drafted by.

    • One entry per PC/home
    • Must have entered your picks by 3pm on Saturday April 26th.
    • All decisions made by SBR with regard to this contest and scoring are final.
    • SBR employees and their families are not eligible to win prizes.
    • Must be 18 or over to be awarded any prizes

    Prizes:
Prizes will be determined by the number of entries.
1-10 entries and the winner will receive a 25$ account.
11-20 entries and the winner will receive a 50$ account.
20-30 entries and the winner will receive a 100$ account.
The prize has a 3X rollover.

this is going to be like playing the lottery or keno or something along those lines. with all the trades teams do, it will be hard to get even 1/3 of the first round right, cause you don't know who is taking a player because they have already set up a trade with another team to give that person away for another and/or future picks or added players. what i'm trying to get at is, you might choose players by what teams you think have a weakness in a certain area and would choose a certain player, but you don't know all the behind the scenes workings going on.

While I am something of a Draftnik, I agree with crazyl that this is far to complicated a set-up to make it worthwhile, and not worth all the sheer guessing and typing considering the prize monies.

The first ten picks would have been suffiicient, with a tie-breaker maybe on who trades out of that 1st 10.

Or maybe the first half, ie 1st 16 picks. You won't need more than that to break ties.

This was constructed by someone who doesn't know much about the NFL draft.

Its a free contest so cant complain but anyone who guesses a player that is picked in the entire 4th, 5th or 6th round should get a point. cant see anyone hitting the exact time of a selection a player is picked in any of those rounds.

    Good luck to all!

1st and foremost, the guy who made the contest knows much more about the nfl than you. I'd but my last dollar on him in a capping contest vs you anyday of the week.

2ndly , you should be proud taking a stand with a person like crazyl L. Everyday the dude is bitching and crying about something. Not to mention he's internet tough. That's definately someone i would want to associate myself with.

Lastly , if u liked the NFL . You would want something where u actually hafta analyze team needs and grade players. Not just do a top 10 and that's it. That would take 2 seconds time and isn't very challenging

Well said, Cee. I completely agree - especially with the 1st and foremost point. And, I too, am missing the NFL and going through the teams and their needs, imo, was really interesting for me even if I don't get any of them right.

First statement is hard to back up because no one knows who knows the most , so I pass there.

2nd statement is right on target, as Crazyl is a loser

Lastly I love football , but drafts in the NFL and recruiting in college bores the hell out of me.

So I pass on this contest , good luck to those that play .

Yeah, I don't know what there is to really complain about. It's free money if you win. On top of that, even if you knew nothing, or didn't care to research it, you could always copy Mel Kiper's draft board with minimal effort, and have a better shot then not entering at all.

If there were a contest for the most non-sequiturs in a single post, you'd be the Global Champ.

1- What does handicpping a game have to do with the set-up of a contest? Whoever set this up does NOT know the NFL Draft. If there were trustworthy bet holders I would wager a dime that not one of the poster above will have all ten of first ten correct - even with the Miami pick a gimme!

The tie-breaking rules are stupid. There ain't goona be any ties after Round One. And, it's hard enough to guess the first ten, let alone who will be picked at the top of each round!

I would doubt that anyone shown above will have even 8 of the top ten right. Not that they don't know foots, but it is a guessing game, even not considering the trade-downs.

Top 10, top 16 max, is all anyone will need. Especially since BoL is NOT promoting this contest on their own site! They want only new accounts - they will be disappointed. (Dont know if they are opening it up to other bet sites, but evn so they won't get many new accounts.)

2- I agree with crazyl on this issue. It does not mean I agree with him - or even read all his posts - on every issue. As I said, you are a master of the non-sequitur. Not logical - don't ever try doing your own handicpping,my friend.

3- If you think an accurate analysis of the Top 10 can be done in 2 seconds, you don't know the draft, and likely not football as well. I do know team needs - but all teams have multiple needs, esp those in Top 10 - even New England!

Team draftboards have "groups," 3-5 players that they can pick from,if available. Maybe only 2-3 in top of Round One, and 5-8 in late rounds. That is exclusive of moving down in a trade, which furhter complicates. Not too much such movement in recent years in top 7 - I think that streak breaks this year.

Most of the posters here have made conventional picks, following the horde of draftnik sites on the Net. But there are always surpises.

ok, right, if Matt Ryan is there when Baltimore picks, it's a lock they'll take him. But will he be there?

It's clear that the person who constructed this rooster-eyed contest is a friend of yours - which must mean he is at SBR (tht ain't you, is it mo?). And so the contest is going to be limited to SBR posters? All of whom, I bet, also already have accounts at BoL.

The contest constructor may know football and be a terrific 'capper. But he needs a big brush-up on doing a contest.
By limiting it to the top 10 or 16 BoL may have gotten a few new accounts. But to open a new acccount for this - don't think so. Over/under on those who did so is 1.

    That's right- never.
