Default What was the best game ever played?

From start to finish, a game that was captivating throughout? ive never even seen tape of 'the miracle on ice', never saw the flutie/miami game, never saw cal/stanford. One of mine is probably the Texas/USC title game from just a couple years back.

Mo ever here of Tyrone Robinson played at Tenn. backup OL i think 83-87 . Hes from my home town he was high school QB 81-82sr. yr. football season. We were 9-0 no.2 in the state our biggest rival Stevenson 9-0 no. 1 in the state they had won two state titles in 4 years they won 28-22 but it was one of the best games i ever saw. We were in the same area, and back then only one team from each area went to the playoffs now 4 from each go what a shame that we didn't get a chance that year to go to the playoffs!!!!!111111

20four7, is the video you were trying to get?

Two of the best football games I saw in person were in the Astrodome. First one was the MNF game in Nov 1978 between the Oilers-Dolphins that everyone remembers for the long TD run by Earl Campbell near the end to give Houston a 35-30 win. The other was a Thursday night game in Dec 1980 with Houston holding on for a 6-0 win over the Steelers on two Toni Fritsch field goals. Not too many people would think a 6-0 game was exciting, but it was to me and the best part was the paunchy Fritsch after the game being interviewed and excitedly saying, "I kick two touchdowns. We win!"

Wasn't he a LB? i know the name, but i was only 3 in 1983 so i dont remember much of his career. ive read some archives on the old teams, but i don't know a lot about Tyrone.
How did Robinson play in the big game? HS football is not all that good in my area, so we don't get many big games.

I ment OLB. He did have a good game ran opening kick off back for td. Had 75 yard run called back said he step out of bounds but of coarse it look in to my young eyes!

Duke-Kentucky 1992, winnner goes to Final Four. Laetner, Mash, back and forth, last second shot. Everything you could want in a game. Big players making big shots from beginning to the end.

Yes that's it Willie Bee. Thanks. For those who aren't Canadian you probably don't understand the importance of that game or the whole series. Best hockey to this day you could watch.

Factor of final score is not important.

Its the way both teams played and how intense the game was.

Hard to pass on that one.

    OKLAHOMA/BOISE IT IS.

A significant game, a bowl game, prime time with the
    entire sports world watching.

    Fresh in our memories.

You almost have to watch it a few times to
appreciate what happened in the game. Throw in the
fact that the pointspread was around a touchdown and
the highs and lows of overtime was enough to
    send you to rehab.

    GOOD JOB CEE!

Its an opinion. How can you disagree with my opinion.

    Its not a fact.

Cee always a pleasure. Still dealing with the
bullshit with the Orkin crap, but kid is graduating college
next week and headed down to Florida. So looking forward
    to that.

Who would have thunk 4 years go by so fast.

Hope life as a Texan is great!!

Kinda tough for baseball to make the list I concede, slow pace and all.....But for the sheer heart failure of any fans of either team, I have to nominate the 9th,10th and 11th innings of the RedSox-Angels 1986 ALCS match, Game 5.

Was the game featuring the Dave Henderson homerun that kept Boston alive and did in Donnie Moore, in the most tragic way. What's been forgotten is that the Angels made a comeback of their own afterwards and should still have won the game.....

shoot - you beat me to it. This was the first game that came to my mind. Hill to Laettner at the top of key, one bounce, turn, nothing but net.
    Great game.
