    Matt Cain, RHP (0-2, 6.64)
    Giants (8-13) @ Greg Maddux, RHP (2-1, 4.68)
    Padres (9-12)

    Scouting Report:
Giants: Cain struggled in his last start, Friday at St. Louis. He threw 3 2/3 innings and allowed nine runs on eight hits while walking three and striking out four. Cain's ERA jumped from 3.24 to 6.64 with the outing. It was the second start this season in which Cain didn't get through four innings. In 20 1/3 innings this year, Cain has allowed 15 earned runs, struck out 19 and walked 15.
Padres: Maddux was tagged for nine runs for the first time since 2004, six in the first inning alone, as the D-backs defeated the Padres, 9-0, on Friday at Chase Field. Maddux threw 113 pitches, the most pitches he had tossed during a single start in 2 1/2 seasons. But Maddux essentially rescued the Padres by pitching seven innings against the red-hot D-backs as the Padres? bullpen was taxed from throwing 14 innings the night before in a 22-inning loss to the Rockies. Maddux couldn?t get his fastball down in the first inning, and Arizona made him pay. This start was coming on the heels of a five-inning shutout against the Dodgers.

Would take a shot on Giants at +135 or more. Unfortunately, line not there yet.
