i have never beted run lines,i have always beted moneylines.i have never mined to bet 300 to win 100.my question is, do you fine their is more value in betting a run line over a moneyline.iask this ,because alot of times the favorite wiil win by a run,and its usealy a nail bitter.

I try to play the -1.5 only, never +1.5. Yeah you are right. It depends on the game and the pitcher. Like Sats games, I had -1.5 on Mets, Arizona and Cubs. Unfortunately I also had the crap Yankees -1.5, but it didn't matter anyways. I do find value because of the payout. Also, when playing the run line, I also play the money line just in case...

playing anything over -160 is wrong IMO. Runlines are also for suckers if you play them regularly.

I've been doing this successfully for 16 years and i would rather be getting the most i can for every unit i wager. you dont mind laying 3 to get 1. I would rather lay 1 to get 3 doing something else. however, since +300 to +10000 isnt available everyday in the sports i gamble i do risk units to get a unit or lay some juice. But i dont recommend being a huge chalk eater especially in baseball. But if you make some $ i recommend investing profit units in nascar, derby futures and other higher paying futures. Its the only way to really make money for me. If you're playing -110 games in hoops and football and worse in baseball you wont make money consistently from season to season. Its hard as **** to have two consecutive winning seasons in any sport. By reinvesting profits into higher paying odds in many various sports and futures you can beat the book and actually make some real cash instantly when you win. And the risk is a lot easier on the heart given the stake amount and that its profit.

I wouldn't play the run line on Arizona on Sunday though...

yeah exactly

i had az -1.5 yesterday but went with the jazz today. but u know those days in mlb where 6 out of 8 teams will win by one.

i do think playing the runline consistently is for suckers, JMO. But yes i do play them but pick my spots. But playing heavy chalk is worse than playing runlines so ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Every gamblers path is his own.

when i was younger,i beted baseball all the time.i beted on dominate pitchers,because i believe great pitching can shut down good hitting anyday, and i won 5 years in a row,and 90 percent of my plays were in the 200 to win a hundred range,and sometimes 300 to win 100.i understand you would rather lay 100,to win 300,most people would.ive started to bet baseball again ,because of jake thompson.iam trying to learn from other betters,and how they play.i hope we can help each other in months to come.

I had some success last year with reverse runlines on dogs. A reverse runline is a -1.5 runline on a dog. Which will take say a +200 dog and make it a +400 dog.

I use runs per plate appearance over the last 7 days to find dogs I want to bet on. As long as the starting pitcher is decent. Tampa Bay was good for this last year as they could score runs in bushel baskets when they were hot. That -1.5 runs was meaningless with them because if they won they usually won by several runs.

I only use last 7 days because I want to be with a team that is on a hitting streak.

If you pick your spots carefully, you can find good value in big dogs. If Tampa Bay was playing a team with a leaky bullpen, they were usually good bet.

Tampa Bay's bullpen was wierd last year. TBay's ERA in relief was through the roof, but they would have streaks where the closer would shut the other team down completely several games in a row.

I remember a game against the Red Sox, Ball Four (Balfour) came in with the bases loaded and nobody out in the 9th inning and struck out the side. I checked his record and he has never done that before. Balfour was TERRIBLE, usually. And I think he did it on something like 10 or 11 pitches.
