    Default Frustration!!!! Mlb

Need advice from some veterans. I really started playing games this year and am frustrated as all heck.

90% of the time I play ML's and am right YTD 54% of the time. Yet for the entire MLB season I'm only up a little over $100 bucks. At one point I was up a little over $700 but am in a big time funk the last few days.

It seems that when a feel good about a team I make a small play and hit but when I feel 100% sure about a game I seem to lose more often then not.

Am I on the right track or am I doomed???
    Any advice people???

Do you play a lot of favorites? If so, that could be the problem right there. Also, it's early, so you shouldn't be playing that many games yet. In fact, today is my busiest day of the MLB season so far, as I posted a 5-Pack in the MLB forum.

Finally, take advatage of 5 Dimes nickel overnights. They are up until 8 AM ET.

As far as favorites, if I had to choose I would probably say yes but I have hit with some dogs. I really don't pay 2 much attention to who is a favorite or who is a dog. I mostly go with what I feel about a games as well as what the stats are pointing 2.

That's a good start, but you have to consider price too. Remember, a team that has a 65% chance of winning is a bad bet at -200, and a team with a 40% chance is a good bet at +160.

Big favorites will kill your bankroll in baseball. I always preach that even the BEST teams lose over 60 games a season. I am up 13 units. But I was up about 26 a little while ago. I bet the Indians as big favorites a few times and lost. Dogs and very slight favs are the way to go in baseball.

    Good luck!

I think baseball is the best sport of the 3 I bet ,you have to be selective as in all sports though.

I have the same bet size on all games. See too many people have bet sizes ranging from 1 unit to 10 units. That does not fly with me. Would hate to hit 4 out of 5 and lose money.

Have seen way too many times a game looks too good and bet big and it loses. No game is any bigger than another. Too many people bet more on a championship game ? makes no sense.

Baseball is good in that when you hit a dog you get + money which is great. Problem is too many people bet dogs blindly because of a big + return. I only take dogs when I see that they have a chance to win not because of the odds.

There are some great favorites that are good plays but I only play them with a good starter not just because they look better as a team. The odds are set on the pitcher and that is the first place to look.

Limit your plays to a few a day and you should see a profit and bet same unit size with no chasing.

I hear you. I rarely go above -150 but have done it a few times thus far. I feel a bit better knowing that I took Houston before logging into the site today.

Maybe it's a metter of me just playing to many games? I normally make around 4 plays a day. Maybe I should cut it down to 1-2 games that I feel really good about?

I already have 3 plays for today.

    Houston 2 Units
    Cards 1 Unit
    Cubbies 1 Unit

You took all 3 early games. Is that the best value for the entire day. Or do you just want action early.

    Think about that.

I see you are playing all 3 of the day games, is that wanting action or did those 3 come out on top when capping ?

I will venture to say "action"

FYI, today is the first day all year that I have more than three plays. And I see we are going head-to-head with Brewers/Cards. LOL

A little bit of both. The early games are the games I feel strongest about. I liked the Padres for tonight but am not laying -170 and I also like the Angels tonight but got burned with freakin Weaver yesterday. Depending on my early games I will hopefully be able to take half my profit and make a play on LAA.

    dont play favorites straight
play favorites only in a parlay of 1 or 1/2 unit
dont force teams into a parlay just for a better payout
if you only like only one favorite today:
play 1 unit on that team only
if you win you have the 1 unit (say 100 + winnings say $45) if you really like say 2 teams(faves)the next day
then parlay those 2 for 145
so you have parlayed the team from day 1 with 2 from day 2 for 100

    dont bet dogs in parlays

    dont bet totals at all

You still have to consider value though. Goes back to my point about a team with a 65% chance of winning being a bad bet at -200.

Exactly why I'm staying far far away from the Jays tonight.
