Default Impossible to get a job these days

Unless you want to work 40 hours a week

As soon as the Land O Lakes people told me this negotiations broke off.

I stormed out of the interview and said forget it.

Just wait until the inflation really kicks in. Jobs will be real hard to come by by the fall.

I heard the elementary school down the street is hiring crossing guards.

I would be a good hire.

You didn't know you were applying to a full-time position?

I would kick you out of my office with pleasure.

It's getting harder and harder to find the job that you want. The only jobs around this area are in things I've either gotten sick of or don't want to get into. I don't care so much as whether it is a 40 hr/week job but I am sad with the fact that the small business man doesn't have enough leverage to provide offers that compete with the big boys.

Well I mean jobs that actually pay a decent amount and give you benefits.

How many hours a week do you want to work?

40 is nothing in the real world.

i don't think it's the amount of hours you put in as much as it's whether you like the job. The key is finding something you want to do that pays.

Actually Alberta has such a labour shortage that wages have gone through the roof.

I've been offered jobs that range from 70K to 100K working in the oil field near Ft. MacMurray Alberta.
Problem is, I'd have to move to Alberta (no disrepect intended).

Sales is the way to go. You dont need any college education. You can go sell cars and make 70k+ a year easy. I did it for 4 years.

    This.

Working only 40 hrs a week on a regular basis would feel like a vacation.

I work on average 50 hours a week just to make 80K a year.

Genuis, I would hire you but I would rather shave my legs with a cheese grater than be around you.

Walking out says one thing to them / You're lazy! In the real world most people work 40 + hours a week to earn a living.

I was having problems feeding my family on this wage anyway.

I have 6 kids, I need a better paying job.

Sweetness. I'm trying to find something that I would actually enjoy workwise at this point. The way I see it is if you find something you love you don't care how much time you put into it, you make alot of cash, and you are happy. Can't go wrong there.
