    A few reasons come to mind.

    They don't want to make it too easy on people playing multiple accounts (bonus-whoring).

    They'd rather have the additional money coming in from your deposit.

    They don't want to risk getting tricked into moving funds from a hacked account to the hackers account.

    More cons then pros for me, for the reasons stated above. I have never understood why poker sites allow this.
