    Default Information Reguarding Bank Drafts....

this was from a CW thread across the street....I challenge ALL of the CW touts to respond to this....cause this is a A+ book and everything....and they 'pay' people you know

    Quote:
I recieved a check from them took it to the bank and manager came out to talk to me about the check. They said they have to send it to there bank to verify funds then it is sent back. Also canadian banks have up to 1 year to request a refund or stop payment on the check. Thats where they are going to get everyone. They have you with the check, then down the road next thing you know they going to take money back out of your bank for a stop payment on that check from 6 months or 8 months ago. Then all hell going to break loose
although everyone calls them 'checks' they are technically "bank drafts". They look just like checks, but the process is much different for your bank to get the money. Unless the processors bank has a corisponding USA bank, what you get from most sportsbooks is a bank draft and not a check. and yes, it could take months for the bank draft to come back 'dishonored'

    see the response post below.....

I'm not saying creditwagering is sending out bogus checks/bank drafts as almost everyone offshore has to send 'checks' using this method.

also there is no way to know if a bank draft will be honored or not in advance. your bank basically sends the draft to the bank it was written from and crosses its fingers that bank sends them the money one day... normally they do, but nothing prevents them from not.

Interesting little tid-bit....a year to cancel payment seems bogus to me. Why would a bank offer that long since about the only use would be to scam people out of money? Either way I am not going to play there because I have a local that I work with that gives me a credit limit of my choice and 10% bonus on post-up with no roll over.

ALOT of people are using the fact that CW sent checks out as proof of them being a honest book and so forth

Im just glad I never sent them a scan of my ID

I still wish to pay them though...but if they dont accept money orders I wont be able to do anything for them

    oh well

I think that I have read that they are based in Costa Rica so why use a Canadian bank...is this common practice for books due to the US restrictions and making it easier to move funds without questions?

I dunno....everyone attacked me when I mentioned this earlier

they were so happy to deposit the "cleared check" into their accts

but maybe someone can confirm that has received a 'check' from CW where the bank is from??

Im pretty sure someone on here said it was a canadian bank

A "bank draft" is a fancy old fashioned name for a check drawn on a bank's own account rather than the personal account of the person you're talking to. What it means is that he paid the money to a bank plus a fee to get the safety of the bank draft. (Note: it should be drawn on Chicago, New York or some other US banking center and payable in US dollars if you are in the US.) Just deposit it into your account like any other check.

It works like a Cashier's Check, Official Check, Traveler's Check or ***********. It's guaranteed by a third party and a normal way to do an international transaction.

Thank you sir. Im just posting my experiences. If I come off harsh when people claim they are going to stiff CW or other credit books, yes it gets me a lil upset. I hate to see a few people ruin a good thing for some people.

Admittedly, I do not know much about gambling; however, I did used to be the Operations Manager of a bank in Florida and I can tell you this, once a negotiable instrument (check, draft, ***********, etc.) has been negotiated (deposited, cashed) then that's the end of the line for that document. If your draft or check or whatever is deposited to your account, your bank has the right to put a "hold" on that item for a specific amount of time, not to exceed 30 days, if my memory serves me. If the check or draft is cashed by your bank against an account you have, there is maybe a 5-day turnaround to see if the check has been returned unpaid.
After these time periods, neither bank has any recourse against you.

This doesn't make sense. Sportsgirl knows what she is talking about.

If it is indeed a "bank draft", then it would be guaranteed to be good.
