You heard it here first. Projected starter Colt McCoy, redshirt frosh, is said to be faster than Young with a strong arm. This team is loaded to the gills. TE is re tooling and the linebackers will again be the weakest link. Otherwise, the Horns could actually be better this year.

My sources say its Colt's job to lose. Texas also has a true frosh QB that some folks are comparing to Phil Sims.

I'm planning to go to the spring game in April so I can get a better report then.

No doubt about that. It will either be a true frshman or Colt who is a redshirt freshman.

How-some-ever - Texas returns the entire offense less the TE and their #1 wide receiver who did not play last year is said to be 100%. There is a lot of firepower on offense.

The Texas defense also mostly returns and should be a little better. The linebackers were exposed by USC and they remain a question mark. But overall, this is a championship team that has mucho expierence and should be a top 5 team with a punchers chance to repeat. Early test against Ohio St may determine if a repeat is in the cards.

your absolutely right about that factor john. the longhorns do return a ton of starters next year. the problem is that everything revolved around vince young last year. that factor right there will be there downfall for the 06-07 season.
