Default Need Some Information on Caribsports (thread from '06)

Good Evening, This is my first post. I noticed that SBR does not rank Caribsports very high. I've read the reviews on them and everything sounds pretty good. Any FORUM veterans that can give me a thumbs up or thumbs down on Carib. Thanks for any input !! Private Messages accepted.

    Have a great day.

    Carib is reliable but unspectacular.

I don't know how I feel about the B- rating. I would use Carib before some of the A rated books here, but they are still a little ways down my personal list.

I give them a thumbs up but if I knew exactly what you like to play in terms of bets and dollar levels, I suspect I could come up with a few options I like better.

Carib is full juice. Sporadic opinionated lines. Weak on the bonuses. VERY good on payouts in my experience.

Mudcat, Thanks for the reply. Right now carib is giving 50% bonus on initial deposit, although Bonuses are really not that important to me as I find all the strings attached(rollovers) rather frustrating. I'm a small player $50-$100 range. I do not wager on baseball. NFL and NBA mostly, some NCAA.

Lines are full juice, moneylines are quite often very favourable to Pinnacle, software is clumsy but I've never seen anyone pay out quicker than these guys.

Not a veteran mrmookie but in comparison to the 60+ other bookies I've used so far, I'd definitely place Carib in my Top 5.

IMHO they have nice lines, great customer service (knowledgeable, prompt and very polite) and fast payouts.

A definite "thumbs-up" then from this quarter!

I don't like their whole sticky bonus deal...

I agree but what I do to counter this is simply rollover the prerequisite multiple then withdraw everything (okay so there's a $15 NETeller charge). I finish off by then 'memoing' (did I just invent a word?) their Customer Service Department to politely remind them that as my balance has fallen below the $50-mark, could they please remove their ("$XXX.X on credit") 'sticky' annotation.

FYI Carib usually removes this annotation within 10-minutes without any fuss or bother, which then readies me to take advantage of their next great bonus.

Good book, one of the originals in the business. Their previous ownership, which may not exactly be totally "previous", has been dogged by US officials for years and that had a big effect on their rating. Now that SOS has bought into them they are in good shape.

If you're looking for alternate recommendations, I would start with the Mansion exchange (if you're comfortable with exchange betting.) The reduced juice is very valuable in the long term. No transfer fees.

Based on your comment about losing by half points, you might want to check out Skybook. It's a very reliable book with a free half-point deal on hoops.

If you ever venture outside of straight game betting and get into props, parlays, exotics and whatnot, you might like all the options at 5Dimes or Olympic.

    Carib is okay too.

If nothing else, i think your money is pretty safe there.

well, safer than probably 75% of the other shops floating around out there.

I like Carib.. i think they were the 2nd shop i signed up with.. Great CS, and, one of the easiest banking systems you will find.

if they ever went to -107, they'd be a force, imo.... right now though, their use is somewhat limited, imo..

HA! I guess those US officials came with the sportsbook! Talk about ironic.

Swinging Johnson made Carib the book it became. Fast payouts, honest and reliable for the recreational player. Swinger made Carib a top notch book and Carib wouldn't even have half of the respect of the industry that they currently have if it wasn't for swinger. Swinging Johnson made this book, bottom line.

Their last man standing contests and carib handicapping challenge is second to none also. In fairness I don't wager in their sportsbook very often.

LOVE CARIB and would never lose them (i hope anyways) can even play my lottery number there at great odds! Payouts are a lock(ive had four this past month and am waiting on another, yep on a roll! Workers are super polite Im just so glad i got in before they stopped taking US customers but am so glad they decided to do that if it helps keep them out of trouble. I do wonder how there growth might be going forward now though? Absolutely LOVE this book!

bad lines?? So take advantage? As far as betting options, im not sure what your looking for but they have a bit iof everything..kinda no frills but they put up some nice stuff..the LMS contest is cool to keep you going when you might be out of ur favorite season, you can play your number if thaw your thing or just like to put in your number you play and the odds are great. They even offer fun stuff like Squares which are fun for Superbowl and some great NFL pick contests. I love the place and NO i have no affiliations with them whatsoever..i found them through SOS before they had there problems and went OB..who does own Carib now btw anyone know? I once noticed some Danish co. i think but really have no idea. I think there based out of Belize?
