Me. I quit my day job (as a lawyer) because of Arena football. And I am a damn good lawyer.

    Is this true?

Very impressive if so. I guess the question is, were you a public defender, or a high priced lawyer not working for the state?

I think there are many people who can claim they are an attorney. Does that mean that they make good money doing so? Not always.

    Prove it!

I was a trial attorney. Only about 1 in 20 attorneys have ever had a jury trial. I tried plenty of cases, and specialized in weird cases no one else would ever touch. One of my most notorious cases was convincing a jury to award $50,000 due to a negligent ear piercing. I've defended fire losses using engineering, and won both plaintiff cases and insurance defense cases via briefs on technicalities.

The money was ok, but the job was fun. I loved the competition - crushing the enemy that was supposedly skilled. I was a world class fencer for the same reason. But at some point, beating people got boring. There was no joy in a battle that was won before it began. In law, dueling or other games (and they are all games), I could figure out the odds of any party winning at any point. I enjoyed that as much as "finishing the kill" itself.

Now I just screw around a lot. I bet sports because it is mentally stimulating, and the the payoff for the time I spend is much better than law. I like arguing and legal analysis, so I do SBR stuff for fun. And I spend way too much time playing computer games, sleeping in, and building new things with Legos

Yes, and done with a "gun" instead of a hollowed needle.

I am jealous. That sounds like fun. I was always into Court TV, and have always felt I could do something with law but I was too much of a daydreamer. Never really got off my ass and took school seriously. Congrats on the success.

Back in my retail days, we used to pierce the cartilage with a gun. This was only about 10 years ago. I used to manage a store where we could do this. I would let my employees practice on my ears. Scary.
