Sharp Sports Betting is good book especially when compared to lot of the others. Lot of focus on NFL but has concepts that can apply to many areas.

The Caesars Palace Book of Sports Betting would be better used for a small fire or if you run out of toilet paper. Is an old book that wasn't worth anything to start with.

the problem with reading these types of books is. they don't give you the real life experiences that you really need. oh sure, they will give you the basics, but theres alot more to it than what these types of books offer.

Agree. Basically you have to write you own 'book'; taking what works from different places, maybe improving on some of it, and combining it all into a unique package. Most of it comes down to personal research.

'Win more, lose less' is a standout for me. Gamblersbook.com has a lot of in-depth material.

There's a lot of crap written about sports betting, but as poker players say you can learn a lot from a bad book if you read it hard enough to figure out what about it is wrong. I think that's the attitude you have to take.

I just read Jim Catello's *The Complete guide to the 2005-06 NBA Schedule* cause I saw a couple of complimentary reviews. I was really disapointed because he asserts stuff about situations that are tough spots in the schedule without giving ATS statistical reasoning as evidence. But even in this disapointing book it was interesting to see an approach to schedule analysis.

I recommend *Win More, Lose Less* (Don Peszynski) as a guide to tactical NFL wagering (not handicapping). I also like Kevin O'Niel's books on handicapping. A little pricey and nothing that will blow you away, but some nuggets for any capper with an open mind.
