Default Rounders,a great, great movie with one glaring hole?

The thing i didn't get about Rounders is why in the hell didn't they get out of town leaving KGB and Gramma holding the bag? It's not like Worm and Mike had anything to stay in New York City for? They had the brains and mechanics but were piss poor at money management. They should have gathered up a bank roll as quick as possible not getting into all the jams and heading to the boonies Indian casinos to take all the local yocal fish rubes for a ride.

The casting and everything else about the movie was really believable except for their money management logic-strategy.

Ed Norton is a pretty good actor but he sure picks some lousy movies to act in.He should stick to the lovable con man roles like Worm.

Anyone else think Drew Barrymore is kinda like a child, I mean I know she's an adult but she has that kinda look and mind about her like she's really young and mentally challenged like the way she talks or something. I mean don't get me wrong I'd still bone the **** out of her I'm just sayin just my opinion

Hard to win in casino's when they have their own dealers. Ed only won by cheating when he dealt.

You must be kidding. This was one of the worst movies ever made. NO professional gambler would bet his entire stake on one hand of cards, no matter how much he thought he could read his opponent's tell. And then to get taken in by a fake tell? Please. Then the dude's professor loans him five figures so he can start a gambling career?

This movie was about as believable as Ed Norton winning an award for acting ability.

I have to watch this again but my first thought is the coolest thing is the big time poker players they get in the movie, the acting and the whole story was a little weak.....I will watch again and give you my feeling.

The reason they didn't run on Grandma and KGB was because New York is the Mecca for underground games. If he craps out there and can't ever go to NY or AC where does he go?? Vegas where there are already a million sharks. He had to face the music to ge a game in NYC again.

Brent, the reason Mike doesn't leave town is because it's his home. Can you imagine never being able to show your face in your home town ever again? I agree it's a tough decision, but I can completely respect that he wanted to clear his name.

As for his bankroll management, the premise of the movie is that he was playing in games that were extremely soft and he being extremely skilled. The final showdown against KGB is the toughest to believe, but I guess they needed that kind of ridiculous climax to tie the movie together.

As for the law professor loaning Mike 5 grand. I dunno. That one's very tough to believe. Especially since the guy is Jewish. lol.

The Johnny Chan scene is so stupid. I mean, he beats JC one hand, so that lets him know that "He's got what it takes.". I dunno. Pretty cheesey. The hand itself is moronic. He's playing short stacked, playing super tight, then gets into a preflop raise war with Chan playing Limit Hold Em? It's just silly.

    Wasn't 5 grand. It was 10.

Worst part of the movie was John M's Russian accent. It was painful to listen to, even for a second.

    Even less. Why run?

Worm is a guy more comfortable on the run. For Mikey, you are right. The kid had no reason to run.

(then again, he had no family and very few real friends -- not a lot of reason to stay either)

In my experience the most valuable poker tells primarily involve 7-layer cake and, slightly less frequently, rugelach.

Of course. We know that, but Hollywood will never get it.

I think Ed Norton is one of the most overrated actors of ALL-TIME. Never understood why people like him so much.
