Default Memphis Was The Better Team

If they played again Memphis would be -4 but the best team does not always win, Kansas stole the game and Calipari was out coached. Inexcusable to lose leading by 9 with like 2 minutes left. He should be fired, also I see how he has lost his real competitive fire, he is too commercial now. If Scott Skiles was coaching Memphis wins by 10.

No coach will be fired immediately after taking their team to the championship game (unless there's a scandal or something).

Some people on the Spurs board at espn.com were calling for Popovich to fired after the Spurs recent slump, this is as ridiculous as that, imho.

Memphis' coach cant shoot FT's for them. They choked, bottom line. Couldnt handle the pressure. And they deserved to lose.

I agree. It's funny seeing people pretend kansas is amazing. Memphis took over the game in the 2nd half. Up 9 with 2 min like u said. Kansas got break after break and were fortunate to win.

Whether anyone realizes it or not. If u set odds on a fadeaway contested 3 to tie the game with 2 seconds left. The odds would be way less than 50% chance of him making the shot. Kansas was was fortunate to win. Unless u had blinders on while watching the game.

As far as becoming pro players I definitely think Memphis is the better team. In a regular season matchup I think Memphis would have swept the floor with them. However, when you don't hit your free throws it hurts.

Yes of course they were the better team but being better doesn't really count for all that much when you choke with 2 minutes left.

Being on the "right" side is no consolation when it doesn't cash, I guess I should have picked Kansas and hoped Memphis would miss every FT and then hope to tie the game left with one last 3 with 10 seconds left after that.

Anyone remember they also went scoreless the last 4 minutes of first half. Had a replay to take away a point , and the inability to just foul before they could get off a shot for a 3 at the buzzer. It was a lot more than just missing FT's.

As you know, coach, "better teams" lose with singular frequency. It would be way too easy were it not so.

Remember what Stanford did to USC as -40 st bernards during last football season?
