Question Why is math+coaching like oil+water?

Now that a coach has given away his team's national title based on the inability to figure out you're supposed to foul when up 3 in the waning seconds - will anything change?

I think not, since coaches in all sports resist simple probability analysis as if it were some combination of anthrax+ricin+bubonic plague.

In fact, look for Phil Jackson and several other coaches to make the exact same mistake in the NBA playoffs.

Well, it took all of 2 games for me to be a prophet....in fact D'Antoni made me a prophet twice over. Good work Mike!

Who's the next moron to step to the plate?

Yeah, Duncan had enough time to make himself a nice cup of coffee and sip it slowly before draining that 3. Not a sight you see often, but you just can't take that chance with a playoff game on the line.
