I haven't seen a thread about this movie yet, so I am starting one.

Went to see the movie last night. Let me preface this by saying that we were really excited to see a good blackjack movie set in Vegas.

Good GOD it was one of the worst and most boring movies I've ever seen. I guess I should have known how much it would suck by the previews alone...an Ashton Kutcher/Cameron Diaz movie, a really unfunny Adam Sandler movie, some movie from the producers of The 40 Year Old Virgin that too, looks stupid.

What were Larry Fishburne and Kevin Spacey THINKING?? If anything, this movie confirmed that Spacey is a flaming homosexual.

21 is nothing but a Vegas feeder program for young adults. If you haven't seen the movie, do not waste your money.

It will only make you angry. Bread and I were sitting there shaking our head most of the time. We should have known better when groups of barely 18 year old kids were piling in to see it.

If you MUST see it, wait until it comes out on dvd.

Although that Adam Sandler movie didnt look so bad, its gonna have some funny stuff in it.

Thanks for the update -- I won't waste my time. They do hype up the movie pretty good -- but sounds like the rest of the movie stunk.

There were absolutely no redeeming qualities to this movie. Not that we need to have boobs and the "f" word in all movies these days, but they made sure to keep the racy subject matter to a complete minimum to to ensure a PG-13 rating. Like I said, it is serving as a perfect feeding program for youth interested in the glamorous part of the Vegas nightlife. If I had to deal with those kind of young fools every time I went to Vegas, I'd rather stay home.

Note to Adam Sandler...it may have worked for Tom Hanks, but it isn't working for you OR Jim Carrey.

They made Leatherheads about a football team from my area called The Duluth Eskimos that was one of the first pro-NFL teams that lasted for about 2 years back about 80 years ago.It was filmed in the Carolinas but the movie made it out to be northern Minnesota.Clooney and Zelweiger came here to promote the movie the other day and it was like something right out of Hooterville or the Beverly Hillbillies where all the local yocals came to gawk with their Fargo clothes on.hehe!

They had a movie preview and a friend of mine went to it and he said it was the worst movie he ever saw.By the looks of the tv ads for it,I have to agree.It looked like some sort of cartoon movie with these outlandish cartoon looking character people.

Brent, they filmed a lot of that piece of crap in Anderson, SC where Im from. They filmed a lot of it in an old Hotel that had just been renovated downtown. I went to see some of the setup, they had a lot of old cars around and things to make it fit the time period. I heard the movie was crap though.

And I started a 21 thread friday night. I liked it. It was a good B movie. Pay to see, go with a bunch of friends, kick the night off go to dinner then hit the bars later to hang out/chill etc. We ended up at the casino, I won a couple bets.

Was a good night.

I'm a big Kevin Spacey homer though. I mean if you know anything about vegas, the previews, the actors, what did you really expect to come out of it Robyn other than what did?

I am not really sure what I expected. Probably a movie with grown-ups reversing the con on Vegas? Instead, we got some 'i-just-turned-21-and-i-am-discovering-what-life-is-like-in-vegas-even-though-my-like-sucks-at-home-and-i-am-a-nerd' kind of crap. I felt like I was watching something along the lines of The Skulls or The Fast and the Furious, Vegas style. Ick. I'll leave that crap for you youngsters, I suppose.

I was actually most excited to see his movie BECAUSE of Spacey. But he just can't pick the kind of roles he used to.

Since this is the third thread on this movie, I will once again take the chance to pimp "The Last Casino", made 4 years ago and with the exact same plot. Much better as well, IMO, on a $5M budget as opposed to a $75M one.

I love Kevin Spacey, he has huge draws back about 5 years ago. He's a awesome actor. But ever since he did that Kpax crap or w/e it was I was just turned off from him, then he had another bust movie and he was ****ed....

I think he did this movie to try to get himself back in touch with the mainstream pop culture, so he can get his rep going back in a positive spin. I dunno, I just love him as an actor he does a great job. Just like Tom Hanks, prob my two fav actors...
