This is one of the few times in professional sports that I might have to lean towards the players. The NFL is an extremely profitable league whose numbers show no signs of weakening. Every time the owners and the players redo the deal, the players keep getting screwed. Strict salary cap, no "guaranteed" deals, franchise tags, random drug tests, etc. There's not a lot more the players can give into, and based on the health of the league, the owners need to start giving a little more back.
If a deal doesn't get done, this is one time I will be yelling "Greedy Owners" as opposed to "Greedy Players".

i feel this way because of what Gene Upshaw said in one of his press conferences a few weeks back.Originally Posted by Willie Bee
Upshaw said that if the currently collective bargining agreement runs out before we reach an agreement, the players will not agree to any kind of salary cap.

The NFL is the antithesis of MLB.
A happy medium would be great. Not necessarily plausible, but nice.

News to me. I heard that the cap might be greatly expanded. I didn't hear Upshaw's words. Then again, I get all of my info from sports radio and NFL.com. I wouldn't doubt if the NFL had a tight censor on what gets said about the NFL, especially any strike talk. Keep us posted, BBD.
