They are in Domes, and they have a nice backdrop drape to help with the players shooting.

Also, the benches aren't on the court, but they look like they are sitting under it.

onlooker, nice guesses, but many games have been played in domes, and backdrop drapes, while unusual, have been used before as well,

a hint, the peculiar thing i am seeing has to do with the sideline tv angle, its the first time i have seen it after watching every tournament since 1986

First time I seen the drapes, because I always heard dome games were tough on the shooters because of the deep background and objects.

Let me see if I see what your seeing. That make sense?

most dome games do not have drapes, but they have been used in certain domes over the years, i would say they have drapes in about 20-25% of the games in domes over the years,

this peculiar thing which i noticed is something i have never seen, and it is occurring in both games

    here it is:

its the height of the camera, the angle is much lower than normal, so you almost feel like your only 3 or 4 rows up, whereas normally the angle is more like 10-12 rows up or higher.

with this new lower angle they are using, you can really get a feel for how tall some of the bigs are compared to the guards,

first time in 23 yrs of watching college basketball that i have seen a camera angle this low for an entire game, and it is going on in both games, cbs is experimenting, but i'm not sure this was the time to do it

ah, the floors have been raised as the benches for both teams are sitting well below it, kind of like the floor at vandy. so the cameras are probably in the same spot, just the raised floor making the cams appear lower, either way, its a good view as you can really see the bigs height advantage and you can get a feel for how high the players are jumping off the floor

If I remember correctly the floored is raised 30" from the floor for better viewing for the fans.

Sounds scientific enough for me. Great call.
