    Default Federer loses again...

Roger Federer lost to Mardy Fish +925 today in Indian Wells. I hate to sound like an alarmist and have been a Federer fan for several years but I honestly believe Roger is done. I don't see him surpassing Sampras' record of 14 slams or Agassi's record of 18 Master Series events. I don't even see Roger winning a title this year as crazy as that sounds. This guy is a bad bet.

What happened to him? I think a telling sign was Samprass stayed with him in all the exhibitions matches. Is it possible Fed is done?
Man hard to be the best ever that is what makes Tiger unreal.

I saw the match today ... this kid is in a momentum .. he defeated Nalbandian yesterday ... but he wont defeat Djokovic ... as to Federer it is time for him to start thinking of new game styles ... they read pretty good his moves ... he is the 1 to def. and now he looks to be pretty easy ... Fish is just in a lucky streak.

Tiger takes his stuff seriously ... doesn´t stop training ... all the rest are just into signing books and taking pics ...

Federer looked disinterested. He's already done the unbeaten streaks. He will be interested for the grand slams, though, or he would have quit already.

Roger is no longer the best player on hard courts. Djokovic is now the best hard court player. Nadal is still the man to beat on clay and Roger is still the best on grass.

Not sure how often players have a tournament in a resort town like Palm Springs, right at the start of spring, but it didn't look like tennis was the first thing on the minds of Sharapova and Federer.

he has been hanging with tiger and has gotten that "major" mentality. he is still easily the best all around player in the world and i bet he has cut his practice time by 75% since losing to djok a few months back. just seems uninterested as of late.

Roger can lose to Nadal, Djokovic, A hot Gasquet, Blake, or Roddick on the hard courts now.

I wouldnt bet against him though, unless he was an overwhelming fav.

I think this is great for the sport. Watching Federer steam roll people for the past 3 years got boring. Now every time out his opponent might have a legit shot.

Having watched Djokovic the past few months it's clear to me that Djokovic is the best player in the world right now. Fed has already lost to him this year as well as Murray and Fish.

It's going to be a struggle to get that 15th grand slam title...i would say he's got to do it in the next few years or else he'll never get it.

15th GS? It's going to be tough getting his 13th GS.

cannot even compare golf to tennis, don't be so ignorant for crying out loud, in golf, no physical stress on body you can play at a high level for yrs, tennis is major stress on the body, you're peak days are numbered, usually max of 5 yrs peak level, stops at 27 or so, fed is right there in age

I've always thought of tennis as one the toughest sports mentally. When you're playing, there is no one to motivate you on the court besides yourself. no teammates, no caddy, no coach - just you. And when you have been as elite as Federer has been, it's hard to get yourself mentally up for a 3-5 setter.
One of the reasons I always admired Andre Agassi was when he put the effort into becoming No. 1 in the world after falling to 146.
