Taking the day OFF from Gambling
Yesterday was a fukking wild rollercoaster, thanks to some nice late games, and almost a cover by Wisky, a push was better than a loss, i ONLY lost a little over 1500 for the day. It was setup to be a burial if LSU Lost outright, or Wisky didn't at least push the 20 points.
Need a day off, and most probably could use it. Went in too hard and heavy for the 1st big saturdya of the season, its a marathon, not a sprint for sure.
Heading to Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana for the day with the family and folks, dinner in Lafayette at Mountain Jacks steakhouse afterward. Relax and kick back on this LONG weekend boys.
The lines at the ** windows will be 15 deep in places this week proceeding the start of the NFL.
JJGOLD, relax pal, we will get back that Missouri loss on Monday night!
Watch those suicide rates boys, its a LONG season ahead of us
Salud!

Made 26 bets yesterday (small for a cfb card) and coming back with at least another dozen today. It's a grind but one must bet small enough to almost not feel it.

unless you're scalping or bonus whoring there is no reason to make 26 bets in a day
no way are there that many great opportunities out there imho
just take 100% bonuses and bet against yourself, you'll make a few hundred/week in easy money without having to "grind"

Hats off though.

i find taking days off is the best thing you can do in gambling.. you come back refreshed and you have a clearer mind.. it's like you're refueling.. go enjoy your day off brocker. take the mrs out for a nice rack of ribs and have a couple of beers too.. you will feel more relaxed and not stressed from these games..
when you come back, you will feel like a kid again and like it's the 1st day of school.

Why do you bet so many games? More games = more juice in my opinion. But everyone has different theories. Curious to hear yours.

This is probably the biggest misconception in sports betting. A +ev bettor makes (hopefully) a high majority of +ev plays. In fact for every $100 I bet, I hope (and usually) I return $102. So if someone gave you odds like that wouldn't you bet it all day long.
The famous coin flip question: If someone offered you $51 dollars every time you flip a coin and it lands on heads and you piad them $50 every time it landed on tails. How many times would you flip before ending this? Hopefully your answer is you would flip this coin under till eternity under those conditions. If you have an edge on each indiviual play/flip (and you do with the above scenario) then you should try and take advantage of it. Look at each bet/flip on it's own and the answer is pretty simple.
Good luck!!
Haven't ready Nicky's response yet but pretty sure it's solid and explains it even better then mine.

I understand your viewpoint but respectfully disagree. I just feel like based on my views of games there aren't 10-20 plays I like a day and consider to be +EV. I think it's quite insane but we all have different theories and both have arguments. I have seen people make money with both styles.

its not so much a "viewpoint" as it is a fact. If you can beat the closing line on 40 plays, then you should bet those 40 plays as you'll be + long run. Of course some people bet 1 game a day and hope that hits, but its all about value.

That is 100% correct. This sums it all up. Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks!!!
As for not finding 20 finding plays, it all depends, when and where you are looking. If you are spending 15 minutes a day at 2 books than no way but if it's a your full time job and you are using 20 books then its not that hard, espeically when you start digging into other smaller markets like team totals, openers, 1st and 2nd halfs, quarters, etc... Actaully average close to 20 plays a day currently and am down from aroudn 25ish a few years ago. Would love to get back up there but seems to be harder finding things these days for whatever reason.

taking a day off....WTF?!?
look, if you are serious about beating this thing Brock you can't take one fukkin day off. you need to be out of your bed finding those few games or plays a day that are +EV, i don't care how small the edge is. i made over 30 bets today. got one big play today
ECU +8.5
shit, forgot that one. make it 31
oops, forgot just added SMU +11.5 +103. so 32. Brock, if you are making the right plays, ie +EV, then there is no reason to take a day, especially following a losing day. did you lose cause you fukked up or were they long term +EV wagers that just went against you in an unlucky fashion? so if you were right yesterday in finding an edge, there is no reason to stop looking for that same edge today. your long term record doesn't know if you took a day off or not.
so over the course of a few thousands bets, missing a few today shouldn't and probably will not matter, just thought i'd offer a different take.
unless you are making -EV bets, then by all means take a few days off. not too many though, I need someone to balance the action and keep the opportunities there for my wagers.
GL buddy
