The problem with the God-concept in this country is that it's too intertwined with Christianity. To the best of my knowledge the punishing aspect of God is exclusive to this, in this regard, sect-like religion.

Anyway, go out and start creating a history of success. Start with simple tasks. Increase degree of difficulty as you go along. Complete each task before starting the next. Report back in five years.
