As one who is definitely NOT a Big East fan, they have been much better than I expected. This will benefit the conference for a few years when it comes to "bubble" teams. If it comes down to the 6th-7th place team here versus a mid-major runnerup, hello major.
This has gone on for years and goes in cycles.
