Default If everybook is offering a +270 but one has the same event at +315

and that book is reliable, do you take it every time?

This obviously depends on whether you think there is value in getting +315, but if you do than absolutely. This isn't an obvious bad line per se. Hell just one look at alternative hockey lines today show that +315 wouldn't even make it an arb with a "normal" line that has +270 for the dog. It could just be an opinionated line that top quality books have from time to time.

Not every single time no. Like cobra the Hartford Whaler said, only if the play has value at +315.

For example, suppose you handicap the proper odds on the event to be +325? Then +315 holds as much value as +270...none.

Actually it holds more value. It may be a negative expected value play, but the +315 still has a higher expected value than the +270.

    durito,

True but there is still no EDGE, which I supose is what I should have said, so it is a non-play in either case. I am assuming that the line is not scalpable by the way, which would be a different animal.

    Of course LT.

I was just pointing out that all bets do in fact have value, whether it's positive or negative that's another story.
