Default NIT wagering, value there or is it crazy to guess who's motivated??

seems difficult to know who is really motivated to be there, then again some teams might want to prove the tournament committee wrong, who here bets on the NIT and if you do, do you play psychologist more than you play fundamental capper? what are your methods, if you dont mind sharing. if you do mind, i understand, and good luck either way

I am staying away from the NIT and CIB or whatever it is for precisely this reason, unless I see some really, really good value.
I think you nailed it, its hard enough to cap figuring in which teams WILL be motivated, let alone which teams MIGHT NOT BE.

Look for teams that were hoping to get an invite to the big dance, but didnt make it. They usually will be flat and good fade material.

    OK Arizona State.
    UMass
    Akron? Ohio State?

You think playing the ML against these teams is a smart move or a stupid one?

thats the angle that jumped out at me first, but i looked at the NIT bracket from the past few years, and it was about 50/50 in those situations. some teams with ncaa tourney hopes dashed came out flat, others came out and took out their frustration on their opponents, its just too difficult to know, i think. but i'm listening

Virginia is going to go deep in this tourney. CBI

Sean Singletary is always motivated and he doesn't want his season to end.

I have the same problem. Especially when a team was on the bubble for the tourney. Some are mad they didn't make it and want to prove the tourney directors wrong. Others say ohwell on the NIT and pack it up

OK St +5.5 looks good against a slumping S Illinois team.

I leaned Okie State at first, but its hard to go against a team that is 90-5 at home.

You guys are ready to jump on a SWAC (?) team on the road against a team from the best conference in the nation that has already beat Xavier, Arizona (twice), and Stanford and a team that is one of the best in the country defensively.

The line is already shaded to begin with. And you guys know what I say about the public jumping on underdogs (especially big ones), it almost always spells disaster.

I must have missed the memo. When did ASU move into the Big East?

You must have missed the college basketball season

Pac-10 has 7/11 in the tournament while the Big East has 8/16. Even wtih 5 extra teams, the Big East placed one additional team than did the Pac-10. And that was only b/c Temple and George Mason ended up winning their conference.

took a decent play on NC Ash. 15 seems like a whole lot of points for a disappointed ohio st and a better than decent NC Ash

But the Big East will have three teams in the Elite Eight and the Pac-10 will have NONE!
