Thumbs up Josh Hamilton will hit 35 Homeruns this year!

This guy will be an allstar this year.

Hes got ALL the tools and plays in another hitter friendly park.

    Just has to stay healthy!

Agreed, it is nice to see him make it after all his potential went out the window with his substance abuse.

Yeah, but how many will he hit by the time the Rockets are eliminated from playoff contention?

You're right about the Ballpark The Dubya Built being hitter friendly. I could see mid-30s in taters, especially if it's a windy summer up in Arlington.

There is no bigger Josh Hamilton fan than yours truly. Was in school at NC St in Raleigh while he was at Athens Drive HS. Ballfield was right next to my townhome.

Nice guy. I am hoping he can stay healthy and clean.

I definitely agree here. As long as he stays healthy I think he will hit at least mid 30's.

Still a horrible horrible trade for Texas. Hamilton could hit 45 HR's and drive in 135+ and they will still hit themselves over the head at the end of the season for aquiring him. Somebody might even get fired.

Hitting has never been a problem for the Rangers and finding good young pitching is priceless. Volquez looks like a stud, and the Reds look genius.

They gave up on Volquez too early, as they did with Chris Young. But its still too early to say Volquez is the next Christy Mathewson.

Hamilton is a centerfielder that can hit .300, knock in 120.

    that doesnt happen often.

Hamilton has a good story behind him...drugs etc...Dont forget this guy was a top pick in the draft when he came in

Texas has finished no worse than 8th in runs scored in all of MLB since 2001. I'd say finding a centerfeilder who can produce was the least in their priorities. In that same stretch they've finished last in team ERA 3 times, the bottom 5 3 times, and below average twice.

I'd say it could end up being one of the worst trades in the last couple years. Sure is shaping out to be.

Dont know how you can say its shaping out to be the worst trade in years.

    Makes no sense.

What exactly is hard to comprehend?

    - Pitching wins championships.

    - Texas has had horrible starting pitching for a decade.

    - Texas hasn't needed offense for a decade. They're perennially one of the best offensive teams. Hitting in Texas is fun.

    - Texas desperately needs good pitching.

    - Good young pitching is a GM's wet dream

    - Texas traded away a stud young pitcher for a hitter

Texas fails. One of the worst trades in the last couple years. If it had been perhaps a team loaded with good young pitching to begin with, then PERHAPS it wouldn't have been as big of a disaster. Even then, great young pitching is always valued higher.

I will repeat, Hamiliton could win the MVP award this season for his offensive production and Texas will still shoot themselves in the foot, because Volquez is filthy, younger, and pitches.

volquez did not work out in texas
    i am from dallas
i watched every start he made
young guys never work there bc its a tiny lil park where the ball flies

It wont be a bad trade if Hamilton becomes a perenial allstar.

It will be a trade that worked out for both teams.

    .....And Texas still lost.

    By alot.

Because Minnesota blew up their starting pitcher for 9 runs.

They're winning today because Sidney Ponson kept them in the game long enough to get a rally together!

Pitching wins games, Texas will always be scoring runs but they won't win anything without more quality starts. Horrible trade!

I like to see a guy beat the odds like that. What a talent. Not many people can come back from that sh1t. Strawberry pretty much screwed himself....same with Doc, just never the same.

If you have money like that coke and hookers can be quite the dooz y on a regular.

Helped me out, just got the 5 runs back that they gave the Rays. Back to a 7 run lead.

Lay off the "crackhead" remarks. It's not needed on a positive thread like this.

Many here in this forum have experienced problems with addictions.

Nice to see someone like Josh having success and staying clean.
