SBR Points Firefox users, We need your help.

We have a solid site thanks to all the fast feedback and bug reporting from posters here but we need your help to make sure there are no issues with the firefox browser.

Unfortunately we've seen seemingly rare random issues like an image not loading or a thread topic refusing to open. Since these aren't problems that mean visitors can't use the site and are somewhat minor, people work around them.

Instead, we need you to tell us about them! Write to forum@sbrforum.com with Firefox in the subject or PM any site admin. We'll keep a list of any known issues here and give posters SBR points for any website-related firefox bugs.

Some of the things we'll need to know...
Are you using the latest 3.6.8 version? What windows or mac OS are you using? And of course, what happened on what forum page? Screenshots are great.

You can also type in "about:config" into your browser address bar and copy and paste the info into an email or PM, which would help us greatly.

If you'd like to help by becoming a firefox user, you can download Firefox here.

I made a thread last week, someone suggested clearing the cache/cookies, or logging out and then back in.

I wasn't able to read about 5 threads on the front page, but could get into some threads. I logged out and back in, and it all worked out.

Bill,

Occasionally when I use Firefox on Mac OS, I have trouble opening a thread. Basically what happens is I click on the thread and it loads for about 4 seconds and then does not open. However I think when I clear out all the cookies, it opens fine.

the question posed was for browsing SBR. i use a different browser for the website that works the best. why do you have to use one browser for all websites in the world?

once in awhile I'll log in and the banners at the top will not load. If I refresh it usually solves the problem. Next time it happens I'll take a screenshot.

This is the one we really want to sniff out. If we can see when it happens and under what conditions (toolbars? version? mirrored threads? threads that have X pages) we'd be able to get it. Screen caps very helpful when this happens. Thanks guys!

I've been having the same issues with Chrome. Basically it comes down to certain threads not being able to be viewed, but today I couldn't get on SBR at all (no issues with other websites). Clearing the cache always fixes things but it's rather annoying.

Been using firefox since my start date and I haven't had any problems with threads.. it might be a plug in you guys have installed. I think I've cleaned my cache once in 2 years.

I've seen this problem too. I'll leave Firefox open for days if not weeks, and eventually I won't be able to open any of the threads. If I log out and log back in the problem goes away. I just assumed that it was losing my session or something similar.

If you would like to provide us with debug information it would help us greatly. You can do this by typing in about:plugins into your url bar and visiting that page. Copy and paste that into word doc and attach it here. Or you can take a screen shot for us.

I'm using Version 3.6.8 and it's still happening to me and not only with mirrored threads. Today's issue arose when I tried to get into Becky's party recap thread in PT. I can take a screenshot when it happens tomorrow but the screenshot won't be of much - just the 'new posts' page since nothing happens after that point. The page just acts like it's loading and then stops, leaving me on the new posts page still.
