Default does UCLA still have trouble with athletic uptempo teams?

they've done very well the last couple of years but seem to get waxed when they match up against an athletic & well coached team that can run and gun (in the tourney)

are they better equiped this year to match up with those types of teams (for example memphis, tenn, kansas, and north carolina)?

UCLA will not make the final four to play those teams.

    Inside poly pavilion... yes.
    Outside.. NO.
As for Pac ten being the best conference, i see them in a three way tie for 2nd in bids...

They do have the easiest road for sure. IF they make it, they get beat final four. No question about it. They start out horribly and have to rely on comebacks. If someone gets up big enough early, it will end their run.

    10 teams in the Pac-10 (6 got in) 60%
16 teams in Big East (8 got in) 50%
    12 teams in Big 12 (6 got in) 50%

All I know is, UCLA has made it to the Final Four 2 straight years and didn't have Kevin Love.

I'm surprised the Pac 10 gotr six teams in. Five should have been the max.

Buit the Bruins are legit. And with the # 1 they get to play west of the Rockies in the first 4 rounds. That'll help.

NC will be hard to beat. Just like Fla last year.

    Brilliant post!

    2006 tournament:
    UCLA 62 Alabama 59
    UCLA 73 Gonzaga 71
    UCLA 50 Memphis 45
    UCLA 59 LSU 45

    2007 tournament:
    UCLA 68 Kansas 55

...and if memory serves, not too many teams matched up well with Florida the last 2 years.

It's encouraging to see that there will be plenty of anti-Pac 10 money out there for me to scoop up.

Bruins need to take scoring on offense more serious than stopping everyone on defense

    Correct, and more correct.
As soon as they fell down 5 they lost control of the tempo the rest of the game.

Pac Ten doesnt have near the talent as the other powerhouses. Kevin love looked awful on defense, and his post moves were nowhere near as good as they should be. Collison showed why he will be an earl watkins in the NBA at best.

Anyone he tried to guard was scoring at will.

The difference between this matchup and the last was that Memphis had a real Pointguard. Who as a freshman, made collison look like phuckin JJgold in a pick up game at the Y.

    O V E R R A T E D

The fact that UCLA expected the guy who got schooled all game long to eventually stop the kid...on his own... was just funny...He was just way to quick for him. UCLA got outplayed and it didn't really matter, because the D Help would always come to late or not at all. The coach should have made an adjustment but he didn't. All 3 of his guards got taken to school tonight.
