well, this is a what if. i know mem should win their conf tourney, but if they were to lose would they still be a 1. they havent lost in conference in 2 years, i know its not likely to happen this weekend.

the short answer is no. if 4 of the top 8 teams run the table in their conference tourneys, then they will get it over the other 4 teams. its okay for a top team to lose in the 2nd or 3rd game of their conf tourney as long as the other top teams do as well. we will have to see what happens between tomorrow and sunday.

I think Memphis or North Carolina would have to slip early in thier tourneys to lose their status as #1 seeds. As close to locked up as can be at this point.

correct and incorrect at the same time. it depends on what the other top teams do. if ucla loses in a hard fought game in the semis or finals of the pac 10 tourney, they will likely still get the #1 seed. they wont care if theyre #1 or #2, as long as they get to stay out west, going to anaheim and then phoenix. remember, last two yrs ucla was #2 seed both times and made final 4 both times, get it?

i agree with this statement, memphis and unc are the closest to locked up #1 seeds, the rest we do not know yet, lots of conf tourney action will determine final #1 and #2 seeds

It will be intresting to see how both Memphis and Tennesse executes in the half court, when they get slowed down the tournament. . .

Also I think Tennessee might be drained from a brutle last week and 1/2 and probaly won't win the SEC tournament. . .

If they did win it , then they probaly deserve a #1 depending on how the other top contenders do in their tournaments.

If the vols win the SEC tourney they should be the #1 overall seed.
