Default Your Favorite Beer by Country

Anyone who names any of the following beers will be ridiculed and treated with contempt: Bud, Miller, Coors, PBR and Fosters.

    Here is my partial list:

    USA- Black Butte Porter
    Ireland- Kilkenny
    England- Boddington's
    Mexico- Negro Modelo
    Germany- St Pauli Girl
    Australia- Boags
New Zealand- Steinlager Pure (normal Steinlager belongs in the category with Coors and Budweiser)

Can't make my mind up on Belgium but anyone who mentions Stella should be shot.

    Tyan Shan - Kazakhstan

Every time I go on a business trip to Kazakhstan I drink this one. It's the locals favorite and it's made from a secret family recipe that has been handed down from Kazakh to Kazakh generation since Attila the Hunn.

Yes, it is available for export but only in the former republics of the Soviet Union. I sneaked a six pack through customs once at Atlanta airport and gave to my brother in law who loves american beers and he said it was excellent. In Kazakhstan you can get it at the local bars in Almaty.

Sounds interesting. I'd like to check out the Central Asian Republics at some point, but they aren't at the top of my list of places to go. I'll definitely keep it in mind when I go, though.

UK - Carling Premier (don't know if they still make it - it's like a creamy Boddingtons but a lager rather than a bitter)

I rarely drink beer, really for guys that are not complex. The smarter you are the less inclined you are to drink beer. I drink $200 bottles of champagne.

I love Sierra Nevada celebration ale.

Also budweiser makes a very good imitation blue moon called shock top.

For those with exquisit taste try Tatoo by Captain Morgan. Its very rare .

I would also like to point everyone to a great brand of Liquor: Seagrams. They make great gin and vodka and are kind enough to sell them in 1.5 liter bottles. They come complete with a hanlde. Really everyone should have at least one bottle of each in their home bar.

I'd rather drink a bottle of my own piss than bud.

USA - Sam Adams Cherry Wheat
    Ireland - Guiness
Others with honrable mention regardless of country: Blue Moon, Bass, Red Stripe, Harp, and Becks Lite as my low calorie beer of choice.

The beer was good in Kazakhstan but the food was horrible unless you like horse meat.

Budweiser is from St.Louis. Milwaukee makes the rest of the rock gut stuff.

I don't drink imports because it's always skank by the time it gets this far.

If I want premium beer, I brew it myself. My favorite style tends towards amber/bock/scottish ales. But, sometimes a good extra pale hits the spot.

Also, for you guys that slam Budweiser, etc, I agree. But, then don't go ahead and list a bunch of other macrobrews as an alternative.

Why would I want to drink microbrews or beers that say I'm too cool for the room. I drink to get hammered not look a certain way. Budweiser is great for me because I live in Chicago and I refuse to drink Miller lite like all the pssy Sox fans here. Budweiser and Cutty thats all I need.

It's not about looking cool or trendy, it's about it not tasting like dog's testicles.

Budweiser is probably the worst of the macrobrews because it is made from rice, not to mention their bogus "beechwood aging". In Germany they had a law from the old days, Reinheitsgebot, where beer must be made from barley, hops & water, that's it. No fillers, no bullshit. How Budweiser can legally call their product beer is beyond me.

Also, if your only concern is to get hammered, why drink beer? Hard liquor has a much higher alcohol content. Just wrap your bottle in a brown paper bag and hang out under a bridge with the rest of the winos.

Did you mean Frazenhaimer hefeweizen? If so, I like that one, too.
