Exclamation Trent Green agrees to deal with Rams

One week after reporting Trent Green's career is not over, FOXSports.com has learned the quarterback has a new home.

Green told FOXSports.com that he's agreed to a three-year, $9 million deal with the Rams.

The Rams were an attractive destination for Green because it allowed him to go back home to Missouri as well as play for an organization he had already spent time with immediately prior to Kurt Warner era.

I'd retire if I was Trent but this backup role is a solid fit for him. If the Rams complete building their o-line i think they can be back to what they used to be on offense.

Probably a good fit for Trent. Give him a backup role and let the cobwebs in his head clear a little bit.

Let's also hope, for Trent's sake, that Bulger doesn't go down as much as he did last year. Because Trent is one concussion away from being forced out of the game for good, and that STL offensive line would be awfully complicit in that.

last time he was with the rams, he got hurt in a preseason game and some dude named kurt warner took over him and went to a couple of sb's, the rams have been unlucky for mr green

Green is reunited with his old OC from the Chiefs, so the system should be a cinch. Bulger probably will miss at least a couple games, he's never made it through an entire season. I think the Rams just want some depth and stability at the position, they aren't expecting Green to carry the franchise.

Don't you think that has more to do with that pathetic offensive line than his durability? I'm not sure Brett Favre could stay healthy playing behind those boys.

Regardless of reasons, Bulger probably misses a few games in 2008. Can we agree?

I honestly think it's a variety of factors why the Rams can't keep their QB healthy, perhaps mainly being scheme.

I don't know why he's still playing - he's past the 'dangerous' level with concussions. Rams are crazy to sign him - they shouldn't have just for his own good. What's he want to do... Be buried on the field? Crazy.

I heart the Trent Green interview today, and he sounds very intelligent about going forward with his condition. Sounds like they've got some state of the art neural scan thing that is much better at evaluating what's going on inside his noggin' than anything they had 5 years ago. Sounds like he's passed whatever doctor tests with flying colors and he didn't appear to be slurring his speech or anything. lol. Hand him a helmet and get him out there.

Seriously, I think he'll be fine.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. I think most of us are just so used to seeing Trent take some devastating hits where he's been carted off and everything. It seems like every other time the guys in a game he's getting knocked out of one. So that probably has an effect on the general perception of his health, but if he's passing the required tests and the doctors say he's good to go then he's good to go. I've heard Trent on NFL Network and he seems like a smart enough guy to know what's right for him.

Rams will suck this year and Green does nothing for our team. It is going to take a while to rebuild in St. Louis.

unless he needs the cash, theres really no reason for him to take a chance getting another concussion

Now it's time for the Rams to start looking for a really good 3rd string QB who should have to play in no more than 14 games next season.

The Rams should get some nice players in the draft drafting by #2 overall in every round. We'll see what kind of players the front office can find with this golden opportunity.

I'm not really sold on the coaching staff & scheme, but we'll see.

Getting their players back from the injured list, as well as playing in a weak division, they've got a solid shot to be the suprise team in 2008. I wouldn't be super suprised if they won the division.

That's pretty much the going rate for a backup qb that has solid experience as a starter, not to mention 2 pro bowls and an 86.9 career qb rating. Plus, he can almost expect to see playing time. It's not like he's backing up Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. The money is fair, considering this situation.
