Isn't UCONN like 16-0 in first round games?

I agree with two responses, Connectiicut will go farther than Pittsburgh.

Completely depends on the match ups.

rjt and others, I know there are a couple bubble teams in my list and yes the match ups are critical too. The first weekend teams are what I think are not good enough for sweet sixteen and the second weekend teams are what I think are not good enough for final four regardless of match ups.

With the right match-up (yes, you could say that about anyone), Connecticut is capapble of reaching the Elite Eight.

No, they are not one of the eight best teams in the country, but they may be one of the top 16 and they could get matched up with an overrated team in the Sweet Sixteen round.

If they beat Pittsburgh. I put UConn in first week exits and not Pittsburgh for a reason.

Marquette may have inherited that sleeper status.

I think UNC wins the whole thing as of now with Lawson back. I hope UNC and Kansas are on opposite sides of the bracket because they are my top two teams and that would make a great final.

After that though, I think that Tennessee, Memphis and UCLA are all vulnerable.

    Great minds think alike LT.

Kansas and UNC are my favorites in the tourney as well. I also agree with the last statement.

I agree with this except that I think tenn makes it to the elite 8 at least. Bruce pearl is a top 5 coach IMO. Look at how deep they went last year. They have twice that many weapons now. They really remind me of Florida from the last two years.
UCLA is the first one to go out if the game is officiated correctly. Although, the ONLY reason they even got a number 1 is that NOONE in the west deserves.

This brings up something that was mentioned the other day. What happens if UCLA loses in the Pac-10 Toureny and Tennessee and Kansas win their tournaments (I am assuming Memphis won't lose and UNC already has a 1-seed unless they lose tomorrow, which is not likely).

Then the top four national seeds would probably be UNC, Memphis, Tennessee, Kansas. Who gets the 1-seed in the West? I maintained that Tennessee would be the most likely candidate to get shipped there, since Memphis is ranked higher and would get the South.

In the past they would just give Tenn/Kansas a 2 seed in the midwest or south depending who goes further in conference. If UCLA woulda lost today, they are still a number 1 seed due to west coast/pac 10 (SELF PROCLAIMED toughest in conference schedule). They talked about this on bubble watch last week.

Out of 15 teams that were predicted to go out first weekend, 13 are out and one is in because it played a team from this list so someone had to advance. This list was posted two weeks ago before the match ups and seedings were known.

Out of 10 teams to go out second weekend 6 are already out from first weekend.
