    Default Points loaning: SBR's policy

    Guys and gals,
All of those involved in loaning and being loaned points need to understand and follow SBR's very simple policy.

There is a significant risk of non repayment. You can not use any part of SBR except the points forum to try to collect from deadbeats. You can not stalk non payers in any way outside of the points forum. You can not stalk them in subtle ways either directly or indirectly or in your signature or any other way.

Because of this policy, your default rate could be higher. Charge a margin accordingly but do not mention anyone's loan or repayment status in any forum except the points forum.

dont like it but its your house. You guys think points stiffs deposit money off shore?..Id say 90% dont-whatever

It's not about liking the deadbeats or not liking them. SBR does not want guys chasing other guys around the forum cluttering up the boards asking for their loans to be repaid.

From a business perspective rates need to be high enough to cover defaults. The whole world has learned the hard way what happens when you make loans to people with poor credit. The lenders just can't use SBR property to harass and collect from deadbeats at the expense of SBR and the other posters who have nothing to do with the private loan dispute.

I'm obviously not in the point lending business but my advice would still be charge a high enough rate to cover the defaults and be selective on who gets loans.

You should create an SBR points loan shop and the repayments come out automatically everyday once the person receives his/her's 6 or 12 points.

That will eliminate stiffs and complaining.

Why not just ban the people that don't repay points? This website is here to get people to deposit at the sponsored books. Would the points system be alive if everyone just was here to bet with points, and nobody put money in any of the sponsored books? NO. So why not just ban the people, because you know, as well as everyone else, that the people that are stiffing on points loaned are just here for the points, and trying to receive free shit. They will never deposit in the books.

Ban them. It's simple, and do an IP ban, so they can't make another account and come back like 40% of posters here.

Loaning points is a gamble, SBR should not be in the business of banning people for not paying back points. Point lending is a personal deal between two individuals. If you don't like being stiffed, do not give out loans, or be more selective in who you give loans to.

Don't loan them and you don't have to worry about collecting them. It's ashamebut that's the way it is,more stiffs than standup players.

Exactly! Besides, god knows how much manpower SBR would have to use to police this BS. Their not your personal muscle here to collect your debts. Just don't loan points and don't be a total degenerate who has to ask for points. Simple as that

I totally understand this. As a former points stiff, I can say that when people used to follow me around in any thread I posted in and call me a stiff or whatever, it didn't bother me one bit, in fact it was somewhat amusing. However, I would assume that the OP in w/e thread it happened to be in would be sort of unhappy to see his topic turned in to everyone bashing a stiff as opposed to discussing the topic intended to be discussed.

That's is not how you stimulate the economy SBR_John. You always talk about the Reagan years when he lowered the taxes. But you run SBR points program like a Democrat. You raised the taxes by implementing the famous "1% rake" and now instead of encouraging people to borrow to stimulate the economy you tell them to not loan points.

Gosh and you were the one that said that higher taxes were good!!! The frigging irony...

The Points program is going great. We did want to increase the point supply prior to poker and we wanted that increased supply in the hands of those who would be playing poker and so far we are on target.

I would never loan a poster any points. They can build them up just as as easy you can. It's not worth the risk. So many people come and go on here and there is no way to find out if you are going to get paid back. It's like when poster's want to bet with each other, I want no part of it, if I want to bet I bet in the book I use.

I think if people stepped back for a minute and actually thought about why someone would want a points loan, they may conduct their business in a smarter fashion as John suggested. As Illini said, each of us has the same ability to earn points simply for showing our pretty faces here each day. Why does someone NEED points? When you think about it logically, maybe 1% of those requesting loans are doing so because they want a top up in order to purchase something from the store and can't be bothered waiting to accumulate the points themselves. The other 99% are asking for a loan to place a bet or hit the casino. If you stop and recognize that you are loaning points to someone who obviously feels the need to gamble when they don't have the 'funds' to do so, maybe those who loan would conduct their business in a way that the risk actually more reflected the reward. Or refuse to loan altogether.

Remember - no one NEEDS to gamble 100 points in the casino or book. Why not just gamble your 6/12 you receive for logging in? The only downfall that I could forsee if point loans were forbidden altogether would be the rake SBR receives on those transactions. (Sorry John ). No one is going to die from not being able to throw down points on Roulette and if there's that one person that is relying on a loan so they can buy a pizza in order to eat that day, well, I'm sorry but that's a bigger issue that they need to deal with rather than worrying about a measly point loan.

I'm looking to borrow 1000 points for football season. Anybody in this thread interested in loaning, I will repay 6/day with 50% interest for 1500. Or I will just create another ghost handle. Depends how I do in the Carib Classic. Last year, 42%. gl

Correct and that guy is the poster "shortstop" who is constantly asking for point loans to buy pizzas, the guy has much larger issues in life but is just a complete degenerate....you have to feel for these types.

I told you what was going to happen with this situation. JJ, you know I call most things and you know I am right. I wouldn't do the yayo that comes from your area, I only like it from one source, it's been the same source for 19 years.

Personally I think the loan lending business should be shutdown permanently...because with this type policy there's nothing to keep people from stiffing. Anyone who loans these days is rolling the dice on being paid. Heck I might just try to become a shyster....seems like the way to go.

SBR Points Forum is like the really bad part of the city that you never want to go to! It is filled with beggars, prostitutes, pimps, gangs, and drugs!

The Mods are now like the police who don't like to go there fearing for their own lives!

Have you seen all the lying and stiffing going on in there lately?
