The best performance of a single game for a QB I think came for two QB's in single game of the Jets vs. Deadfins. It was Ken O'Brien vs. Marino. Over 1,000 yards of offense with the Jets winning in overtime 51-45. I'm guessing that game was in 1986 or around that time frame.

Single greatest performance by a QB

Gotta be Heath Shuler getting drafted in the first round, right?

Favre MNF after his father died. At Oakland and the Black Hole gives him a standing "O". You'll never see that again. Oh yeah, and Favre absolutely dominated the game.

An injured Jim McMahon came off the bench to start the second half and threw for 3 TDs to bring back the Bears against Minn.

    Hard to argue with this.

Also remember coming out of the second half he threw another bomb in the endzone that went right through his receiver's hands? Should have had one more score, but what an incredible performance. Sent chills down your spine.

Brett Favre in 1990, playing for Southern Miss against Alabama six weeks after he had been in a car accident and had 30 inches of intestines removed.

Thank you. Losses like that one stick with you. I remember yelling at the tv telling the defensive players to go hit him in the guts but they didn't listen.

Now that I thought about it for a while, I would like to change my vote to the time Brett Favre played right after his dad croaked. That was a good job under adverse conditions for him.

I just gave away all the hard salami earlier this morning but I do have some bologna, and some provolone cheese.

Thank you 5 star, I was wonder when someone would come to their senses about this one. Think about it. If a player completes 30-40 for 300+ yards I think that team wins probably 3/4 of the time, and if a player rushes for 160+yards and score 2TD's I would think that player's team would win at least 3/4 of the time. Vince did both in the same game. Game over.

Hard to argue Vince vs Brett, but I think the meaning of the win packers had that night was no where near what the meaning of the win was for Texas. Thats the edge, But Brett's game is in the top 5 maybe 3

It's not the best performance ever but Mcnabb throwing for 4 td's on a broken ankle was pretty good.
