london, paris, rome, venice, madrid, hong kong, tokyo, vancouver, they are all incredible places to visit and see in their own right, but i would not choose anywhere else to live other than the great u.s. of a. becoz this is my home, i'm sure natives of most other countries feel the same way, my parents immigrated here four decades ago so i could be born here and have a better life in their eyes, i thank them often for it

Hong kong - cool place, too many "girly bars"
Sing Sing - Beer is 8$ per beer, no thanks
Dubai - Sucked, they only drink beer in Irish Village right outside of they're tennis arena. Too gd hot
Autralia - LOVED IT. Women there are too easy, love americans
    Bahrain - Sucked.

he's asking which places you would consider living for an extended period of time, not which places we all partied the best at, if its a question about partying, my two trips to miami in the past 6 yrs take the cake hands down, pound for pound the best looking women in the world, all in one city, south beach is off the chain in drinking, dancing, and chicks

Take Mo with you and he'll be yours forever. The only problem is they would have to drag both of you kicking and screaming to the airport when its time to leave.

The weak dollar makes it more expensive outside the US for those of us with dollar based assets.

I've been everywhere in central and south america. I live in Medellin, Colombia. I have no interest in ever going back to the states.

I've been to every country in the Americas with the exception of Guyana, French Guyana and Belize. Been to Western and Eastern Europe, European and Asiatic Russia, Arabic and black Africa, South Asia and Pacific Asia; for the exception of Israel and the United Arab Emirates I have not been much to the middle east. I have lived (7+ month) in over a dozen countries.

Dozens of great cities to visit but if I knew what type of experience you were looking for (spiritual, night life, outdoors, etc.) I would gladly recommend you something that'll fit with what you'll enjoy most. Out of the blue like that I would say you might enjoy Puerto Rico alot, island setting, party town, rather safe, tourist friendly and not that expensive of a trip from the DC area.

Only place outside the US that I've been and really have no desire to go back is Karachi just because it's a pretty dirty place, or was when I was there long ago. All Americans should visit both Mexico, Canada and some of the nearby islands (though I've only been to a couple of those). Been to five continents -- only missing South America and Antartica -- and if I had to pick my favorite place for its combination of beer, nice people, beer, great scenery, beer, food, beer and more beer and some more food, I'd probably say the Canadian Rockies (Lots of places from Calgary NW).

We Americans are not particularly well traveled compared to the rest of the Western nations, particularly Europeans. I have not lived outside of the US, although I hope to someday for the experience, if nothing else. However, here are my thoughts on a few places I've been:

Denmark- expensive place, but great people who all speak good English. Beautiful women.

Norway- gorgeous scenery but also expensive like Denmark. Beautiful women, as well.

Sweden- same as Denmark and Norway except even hotter women. Only downside with Swedish girls is that they tend to be a bit standoffish.

Finland- meh. Only went to Helsinki, but it wasn't that great of a place.

Estonia- a real economic success story for Eastern Europe. Fairly cheap.

Slovenia- great place to relax. Go to Lake Bled.

England- if you just stay in London you might not meet a single Englishman. Maybe that's what makes London such a great place.

Spain- Barcelona is the best city, by far. Ibiza is a bit overrated but worth checking out. Traveling around the country is interesting as there are very distinct and different cultures such as Basque and Catalan.

France- in any country it's good to at least learn a few words of the local language and this is especially true in France. If you don't like to shower, you'll love the place.

Andorra- similar culturally to Barcelona, which makes sense since it is part of Catalonia and the official language is Catalans. Nice scenery, and definitely worth checking out.

Germany- I need to go back for Oktoberfest.

Belgium- the North of the country is like Holland and the South is like Northern France. Some interesting historical stuff but I'm not rushing to go back.

    Holland- Amsterdam is pretty cool.

Italy- incredible food, full of history, nice scenery (check out the Amalfi Coast) and hot chicks if you like darker haired ones. Also note that the food is not the same throughout the country.

Mexico- most people on here have probably talked about the touristy places like Cancun. Most of the time I've spent in Mexico was in these types of places, other than an awful 4 hour cab ride from Hermosillo to the coast. Don't be fooled, though. Cancun is not "Mexico".

New Zealand- If you go in New Zealand winter, definitely try to get to an All Blacks match. Beautiful scenery, but the girls are not particularly attractive (there are SOME decent chicks though). The upside of this is that they are rather easy.

Australia- great place. Gold Coast is a fun time if you are young and Queensland in general is great. Sydney is also a lot of fun. Good people and hot chicks. I imagine most here would like the culture as it is very relaxed and gambling is much less frowned upon. I haven't been to Melbourne or Perth, but I have heard good things.

Israel- very interesting place and I had a great time but I'm not in a hurry to go back.

With all of these places, I would encourage you to check out more than just the tourist spots. Really try to meet some of the local people and you will have a much more rewarding and enjoyable experience. Also, please don't be the ugly American.

Forgot a couple closer to home:

Anguilla- incredible place but make sure you have money as it is very expensive. Anguillans as a whole are probably the nicest, coolest people I've ever met.

Canada- Vancouver is a bit of a hole but Victoria was a lot of fun (went on a rugby tour to BC). Toronto is a great city and reminds me of Chicago in a lot of ways. Quebec City is interesting, but I found Montreal to be a bit dull and too full of Quebecois, a deadly combination.

    Bahamas- overrated

    Durito,

Do you mean you have no desire to live in the US or to visit? Also, are you of Columbian ancestry?

Punta Cana by far the best place I've ever been. I thought nothing could top acapulco but the DR defintly did.

Un believable resort and I wasn't sober for 6 days str8.

Im talking 8am at the swimup bar after passing out around 3-4am.

    Def go there.

Hahah, I think Ceeman has a chance anywhere as long as ladies actually see him. I'm with ya on Australia though. Every Aussie girl I talk to is awesome and from what I understand it's a very cool place.

I'm trying to put together my summer travel schedule but alot of it depends on what's going on with grad school as well as my finances. All I know for sure at this point is I definitely plan on getting down to Texas and as of now I'd like to do it in early June. I'm a bit anxious to get out of the country since I just got my passport. If I went anywhere this year it would probably be to Mexico. I wouldn't go to Europe now just because of the fact that the dollar sucks. I think the dollar will recover over the next few years to at least match the Euro and at that point I would want to go.

No desire to live there again. I'll visit quite a bit in the future -- though not at all this year.

No Colombian ancestry at all. As gringo as it gets.

    You certainly got that right.

I can understand people saying Bahamas is over rated, but I love it there. I was in Nassau not Grand Bahama island and if you stay away from the tourist traps and frequent some local establishments your better off. I watched basketball at some bar, I was the only white dude in there and was treated well. Last call was the start of the 4th quarter of the last televised ball game. The locals will treat you right as I got a guy to drive us to Cable beach casino and back pretty cheap.

I never go to an all inclusive unless I"m there just to drink, swim and golf.
