Arrow Books that offer Wireless Wagering

Dan brought this up to me earlier and I really only knew about CRIS offering this. When I was on the CRIS wireless wagering page, I seen what company powered the software for your cell phone.

That company is Phantom Fiber . So I visited their site and wanted to see who their clients were. I found 6 high SBR ranked books that offered wireless wagering. Here is the link to Phantom Fiber's client list: http://www.phantomfiber.com/clients.php

Here are the 6 books and links to the wireless wagering page:

Good topic. I'll probably refer to this list once a week if we get it going.

Any geeks in the house? If your cell is running windows like the new Treo, will it work with ALL browser-based books?? (I'm assuming Mercedes and BLR will not work on any cell)

I have the PPC-6700 running Windows Mobile 5. It uses Mobile IE and I can log on to Pinny and wager no problems.

I was also able to do it on the Blazer browser that was on my Treo600 that ran PalmOS.

i recieved this email today in regards to wireless wagering. maybe some of you guys that have used the wireless wagering feature that some sportsbooks offer can answer this question a little bit better than i can.

Found out that I first need a USB? cable in order to download the
program from my PC to my cell phone, but what I couldn't find out and would like to ask you or your forum is about the charges, plus their customer satisfaction. I'm assuming that there is no charge by the sports books, as they just want more action, but when you make a wager are they considered normal cell phone minutes against your monthly plan or is it billed as a "text message", which I would have to add that service to my cell phone plan.

If considered a "text message" and my plan allows "X" number per month, then is prompts the additional question of multi wagers on one call......if you do three (3) wagers on one call/send, is that charged as one or three text messages?

I havent use it Dan, but I would think it would be using the internet to make the wagers, not text messaging. So what ever the persons plan is with concerns to internet access is how they would be billed.

With my plan, Sprint PCS, I have unlimited internet(data) use and it dont come out of my voice minutes.

The difference that I'm concerned with is not just wireless waging, it's specific cell wireless using one of the few offical sportsbooks that have software programs from Phantom Fiber downloaded to your personal cell phone.

My question are, for someone who actually uses this type of waging:

    1. Is it easy to use/place a wager compared to a PC or laptop?
    2. Are the charges based on your normal cell phone minutes or "text messaging" and
    3. If text messaging, does 3 wagers on one text message bill the same as 1 wager? (otherwise, if limited to no. of text's per mo. does it benifit to group wagers?)

Sportbet just added wireless. It seems most books that use DGS software have the ability to offer wireless.

Just download the opera mini browser for your phone. Works with many of them. I use it for Skybook.
