Question Should referees "let players play" in championship games?

I am always one that gets on officials about silly calls, excessive calls all year long, however, in a championship game I don't think you can let players clearly commit infractions without throwing a flag. I think you cut out the wishy washy crap, but flag the rest.

Here's a collection of photos from a play in the FINAL DRIVE of SB XLII, which, if a flag is thrown, the game probably has an alternate ending... You tell me if there's HOLDING going on here....

Dumb argument from crybaby Patriots fans with too much time on their hands. If they wanted to have some credibility, they would have to analyze pictures from every drive throughout the game.

Holding can be called on every play in the NFL.

Stupidest shit I have ever seen... obviously whoever the hell is crying about that has never played 1 snap of football in their life. Holding happens literally 95% of the plays.

lol 95% of the time? i dont think so.... 100% of the time a holding penalty can be called.

I used the photos as an illustration of what I'm referencing. We can all agree clear holding took place, beyond that, we can also agree that the head official was in direct view of the infraction. His flag stayed in his backpocket.

This isn't entirely about that play, it's more of an overall question, should officials "stay out" of championship games to the point where clearly blatant, game changing type infractions are ignored in the name of "letting the players play"?

Is that legit holding..? Yes of course it is... You'd have to think "BONES" has "D's" to not think it's holding...

Been saying this for years bud. Why most guys lose handicapping. They take what sportcenter has to say as gospel as well as sportstalk radio.

I agree with this, but sportstalk radio can be addictive at times. I do most of my searching for news related crap or injury stuff on the web at different news outlets, so the "spin" really doesn't seep in as much.

Referees and umpires have the unenviable task of being expected to arrive at work on the first day and be perfect, then improve upon that from then on. Can't recall the MLB umpire who said that, but it's true. They should call a Super Bowl or World Series or Final Four or Stanley Cup the same way they call the opening game of the season, and in that manner is the only way they can really please everybody.

Most championship games I like to see refs bury the whistles unless shit is blatant.
