    Default NCAA Backcourts

ESPN magazine just released their top 10 NCAA backcourts based on: Experience, Unflappability, Depth, Shooting, Penetration, Raw Skill, Passing, and Defense. A max of 40pts.

    1. Memphis-3,3,5,1,5,5,5,5=32pts
    2. UCLA-4,3,2,4,5,4,4,5=31
    3. Washington St.-4,4,3,4,3,3,4,5=30
    4. Duke-3,3,5,5,2,3,3,5=29
    5. Kansas-4,2,4,3,3,4,3,5=28
    6. Texas-3,4,3,4,4,3,4,3=28
    7. UNC-3,4,2,3,4,4,4,2=26
    8. Xavier-3,3,2,4,3,4,3,3=25
    9. Marquette-4,2,3,2,3,3,3,3=23
    10. Butler-4,4,3,3,2,2,2,2=22

Are any of these backcourts gonna be able to hoist the trophy this year? Are there teams you think should be here that aren't? Or is it going to take more than just your backcourt to win it all in march?

Doesn't get much better than DJ Augustine and AJ Abrams.

    no lofton and jamar

too bad we dont call jamar our 1 and rally ourselves over these other bumpb squads.

the best is def Memphis, they may have the best 1 and the best 2 in the country.

But as you pointed out to me before Mo: If Memphis can't get it done from the line then they won't be winning it all.

who's got all the elements to take home the championship? Who has been playing that kind of basketball down the stretch?

    Butler?

Have the writers at ESPN not watched AJ Graves this year? Even when his shot is on (which isn't often), he's completely one-dimensional.

Maybe they were omitted because of Dyson's suspension, but UCONN's Price/Dyson backcourt is worthy of being in the top 5.

    Price has really come on.

I agree that Butler does not belong on this list..here would be my list:

    1. UNC (Lawson and Ellington) - Lawson is easily forgotten because the team is still winning without him, but he makes them so much better. God I hate them.

    2. Texas (Augustin and Abrams) - LK1 is right.

    3. Tennessee (Ramar & JaJuan Smith, Chris Lofton) - I included JaJuan because he's really a guard.

    4. UCLA (Collison and Westbrook)

    5. Washington St. (Rocheste and Low)

    6. Memphis (Rose & CDR) - Yes they are extremely talented, but they both leave too many points at the line for my preference.

    7. Duke (Paulus/Nelson/Scheyer/Henderson) - These guys form a great team considering their limited inside presence.

    8. West Virginia (Nichols and Ruoff) - Nobody talks about these guys, if WV goes on a run in the tourney it won't just be because of Joe Alexander.

    9. St. Mary's (Mills and Golden) - Not surprised the mid-major is left off, but then again they did include Butler and Xavier. Mills is a solid point guard and Golden is the best catch and shoot role-player in the country.

    10. Kansas (Chalmers and Robinson) - Robinson has not impressed me much, but Chalmers is so good that KU has to be on this list.
