Default BetCascade 20 second delay on internet wagers

I heard that cascade put a 20 second delay on accepting all online wagers. Has anyone else heard or experianced this?

A lot of people have that now at Cascade ... just like at SkyBook, BetJamaica, WSEX, VO Group, Royal, etc., etc.

For me, BetJamaica has been the worst "abuser" of this system recently. If the line is even remotely close to a good line, the bet gets rejected 80% of the time, even if it's the middle of the night when you know noone else has beat you to the number. It got so bad that I eventually withdrew everything about 2 months ago.

So Cascade did not set that up as a rule for all users?

Highly unlikely .. probably just for guys that were beating them to line moves / off numbers.

I can almost understand maybe during crunch time when things are really busy, that the lines men may not be able to keep on top of all the line movements. But if it's in the middle of the day, or the middle of the night, the GM"s should really be asking themselves why thier linesmen can't keep the markets updated.

If it was me, I would call mgt. and ask about getting off the delay. In some cases, if you play with the masses, and don't max bet, the book will agree to let you back in and use your action to move their lines.

What is happening a lot lately is players are picking off overnights for 6 dollar scalps. A lot of places don't keep an overnight staff for $250 max baseball bets and aren't going to let a player one-side them every night so he can make 3 bucks on a scalp. If you are scalping low-limit props during the day, same thing applies. One of the things good players learn is how to preserve their valued accounts.

I'll go on record as saying the delay feature sucks. I suppose technology has to work for both the players and the books. This is one more way for BMs to deal with Pinnacle who can force them to take one-sided action at the drop of a hat.

I guess the problem here for books is that if someone max bets a number the line will still be open for others; WSEX was explaining it that way. So if a syndicate or some unrelated group of players put on the wagers within seconds of eachother the book gets a big hit.

This cannot happen at Pinnacle as their lines change automatically. They do not have to worry about multiple pops, because the system will reject it by itself (by changing the price).

Those cocky books with delay need to use (or update) their software properly, so if a player sees a number and gets to it FIRST, then it is his to keep, no f-ing delay.

interesting comment there as you assume I will be a losing player there magnavox, even though my track record proves otherwise?...how have your picks been lately?...oh that's right you don't make any...keep up the good work...

seriously though, for a highly rated book, this is something that is worth talking with them about...I don't want to be have this happen to me during football season next year...is it worth Bill sending a formal email questioning this?...

Magnavox is correct, this should be handled automatically by the wagering software. A delay is unsatisfactory.

Or, if they do not feel comfortable with automatic price changes, the system should just block the number after a max bet or set amount of money was bet on it. Then comes the linesman, sees what's going on and decides how to proceed.

From what I've noticed Canbet implements something similar. Sometimes you may notice that a ridiculous amount to bet is available on a certain event, like $24 or $13. I talked to them about it and they explained the system won't allow any more, because they reached their own limits. Of course they quickly reset it after looking at this game, for the usual limit amounts. (In this case line remained unchanged.)

I think in the latter cases it's more a case of community limits than a delay..

If you are playing steam or Dr Bob, you've probably been ham-strung. Imagine getting hit with 20 limit bets in a 10-second period? Some books can deal with that (e.g. Pinnacle with their advanced software). But if you take high limits, deal -105 juice, and can't protect yourself, you'll be toast.

I have a five second delay...it may depend on your connection speed...I think their servers kind of suck...
