Sheer guesswork right now, but Cincy, sitting in the 9 spot, is a good candidate to try to move up, to get one of the top 3 Defensive linemen (Howie's kid, Dorsey and Ellis, that latter stock has supposedly moved up to top 5 status).

Miami's problem in trading down is that there is no one outstanding player that any team would feel they hve to be in the #1 spot to get.

A team needing a top RB could probably get McFarlane at the #4 spot, currently occupied by the Raiders (who could also use a top RB, tho will probably go for either Dorsey or Ellis, to replace Sapp).

Chargers probably need refreshment of off and def lines (age and chronic injury probs on both).

But with Michael Turner gone they will likely try for a solid backup for Tomlinson - who proved in the playoffs that he can indeed get seriously injured.

Mike Hart of Michigan? The RB from Texas? Whathisname from Rutgers.

I'd guess Hart - AJ Smith like picking player in early rounds with injury histories.

I agree with you ritehook about Cincy.I don't of a team anywhere that needs help on the Def line like they do.I thought maybe they had those problems solved a few years ago,and then Kevin Pollock broke his leg,and few gujys never panned out.I don't believe Pollock ever plays again.That's a shame because I loved to watch him play at Georgia.

If I recall hearing, Jerry Jones wants to make a big push for Mcfadden, Being a former razorback himself. I cant really see how in this day in age any team really wouldnt take anthor good running back who can be great. To many injurys these days to just depend on your number 1 guy, and 2 back system are becoming more and more, PATS, COWBOYS, VIKINGS.

Unless someone trades up with Miami to get him, I don't see him going 1,2 or 3. St Lou not likely, Atlanta almost certainly will take Ryan; Raiders may want Mcfadden, but they also need a DT, and if Ellis or Dorsey are there (one at least should be) they may grab him.

On the other hand, Al Davis doesn't like spending money on high draft picks, especially after being held up by Russell as #1 last year. So he could be looking to trade down.

Im a raider Fan and I dont think taking Mcfadden without doing it to trade is not the correct pick. I really really dont think Any QB going to Atlanta would be good for them(Matt Ryan) I would pull an Eli like he did with San digeo, why would you want to go there? Id rather sit on the bench for 3-4 years before go into that mess. either way I think the crop off the draft will be 2nd rounds, many steals to be found

Possibly correct on both counts.

I think Al Davis will trade down. He already spent enough money on a qb who hardly played last season - let's see if that big investment pays off this year. High draft picks upset his aging digestive system.

And Atlanta likely needs a much improved offensive line for any qb to be successful. Which is why taking the highly-rated Off Tackle, Long, may be their best move. (Jake, that is, not Chris, the DE who will always be knows as "Howie's kid.")

Miami won't get much if they do trade down. No super-big Primo guy, like P. Manning in the draft, a surething franchise-changer.

But if someone offers a 1st and 3rd, and maybe a veteran player Miami could use, Parcells may go for it. Or, draft the BC qb. Or one of the top Def Linemen.

It'll be another month before even strong suspicions emerge as to who is moving up or down.

The salary scale for the 1st pick makes it a worse pick than the 6th pick. The only time the first pick is worth it is when there is a franchise QB up there.

dallas doesnt even have to take the raiders pick...they could trade picks with chiefs, jets, or patriots too to swoop up mcfadden...with the raiders signing fargas to a long term deal, jordan, rhoades, and dark horse bush they dont really need another rb...the jets might be tempted to take mcfadden though...jones could teach mcfadden a thing or two about hitting his holes and running inbetween the tackles efficiently

I think RB is overrated in the first round. You can get a dominate RB in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds. Hart is a predicted 3rd rounder. I'd rather have him than that wolfe kid the bears picked up for a third stringer.

I guess having third string day 1 draft picks kinda sucks though.
