Default Shaun Rogers now the highest paid DT in the league

Browns agreed to terms with Shaun Rogers on a six-year, $42 million contract. $20 million is guaranteed and he'll make $23 million in the first three years.
    according to ESPN.

Yeah, that's a lot of money for a guy labelled as a "quitter".

Goes to show that sometimes salaries are based more on demand than they are talent. Not that Rodgers is horrible. I would take him as a #2 dt on KC. But I wouldn't shell out that much for a guy who doesn't have the drive to give 100% on every down.

That is why the city does not have a title in any of the major sports in the last 40+ years.. They make stupid moves...

Yes they need a defense but why give up the house for him...

They need a lot more then one tackle...

Amen to that, Shams. They went 10-6 last season, but who'd they play? I think the only teams with a winning record were the Steelers X2 = 2losses, the Pats = 1 loss and the Seahawks, the only game they won, but seattle is no road team.

Thanks Mo. It's great to be on here as well. I'd do a KC post but there really hasn't been anything going on with them except for signing 1 linebacker. I'm worried that it's gonna be another 4-12 season for us .

Are you guys nuts? Who cares about the money this guy is a stud. Is he lazy? Who knows. He seems to be injured a lot but this does nothing but help the browns and they got him for cheap. The Browns desperately need help on defense and they got one of the best in the league. When healthy this guy is a wrecking machine. It is a lot easier playing for a team that isn't bad then a god awful LIons team who for the second year in a row has got rid of a top two defensemen. A team that is terrible on defense to begin with. trying to stand out on this rotten defense is next to impossible. He has on a lot of occasions.

Rogers is one of the best DTs in the league. Great move for cle. I like their young talent at cb. If they get a DL they should be ok this season on D. Everyone knows they can put up points on O. As long as they don't switch to b quinn

Reminds me of the late Jerome Brown. Gets great push. He ever gets his head on straight this will look like the Paul Kasol trade.
