    WHATS UP, I JUST WENT TO OTB AND SPENT A $50.00 TICKET ON A HORSE TO WIN.... IT CAME IN TO WIN 6.20 ON THE SCREEN.... HOW MUCH WILL I WIN NOT INCLUDING MY 50 I PUT DOWN....

    No you're $50 is included in there.

    For instance...if I played a 1-1 (even money) horse for $100, and he wins, it'd pay back $4.00 on the tote. WPS's are always based on a $2.00 ticket, and $2.00 of that $4.00 is my money risked. Therefore I'd have $4 X 50 = $200 back, minus my $100 stake for a $100 profit. Hope this makes sense...

    Based on a $6.20 win payout, it's $4.20 profit for every $2 you put down

    It won, so I'd say it was a good ticket since you obviously picked the best horse.

    I always try to look for horses that offer value, but am not afraid to put big money on a favorite if I really think he's substantially superior to the field...
