Sooo...I was inspired to start my very first thread this weekend. Here goes:

How many people here have tattoos? Where are they and why did you get them?

I have three.

1. A funky flower with my Libra sign in the middle on my upper left cheek (and I don't mean my face). My best friend bought it fo me for my 19th birthday. We're both Libras. She was supposed to get a Libra sybol with a dolphn jumping over it, but she wimped out.

2. Cherries just inside my right hip bone. Yeah, it's corny...but it was kinf=d of a "best friends" tattoo. No, I don't really talk to either of the girls anymore. Stupid, I know. Hey, I talked them out of getting lady bugs on their boobs. Not a chance in hell I was putting a tattoo on my boobs. They are fine the way they are.

3. The Kanji symbol for "live" on my right foot. This was kind of a reminder to myself to always live, not just survive. I was going through a really rough time and I realized that I was just moving through my live barely surviving each day. So I went out, got a tattoo and started living and enjoying life again.

How about you guys? I bet you have some interresting stories. Just know that if you have any tattoos just because the picture looked cool on the wall, I'm going to laugh at you.

I'm getting the "B" for the Boston RedSox tatted on my right bicep or shoulder, haven't decided exactly where as yet. Figure I've been a fan of the team for 33 years, with the Glory Era finally arriving the last few, so I'm goin' in.....

Just had to clear it with the wife, naturally.....

No tats or piercings anymore. I used to have both nipples pierced but took out the pins about 5 years ago, because I just got tired of people pulling on them.

Yikes. Nipple peircings scare me.

I had my belly button peirced for a long time. I took it out the summer before last. It was just time. It was either take it out or wait for it to get ripped out.

Thanks Swede.....I figure now is the time. I'm sure if I had got the Sox tat earlier in my life, I might have ended up burning it off or just amputating the whole damn arm, what with the nightmares of '78,'86, and '03. But the good times finally arrived.....

As to your boyfriend's plans, I would suggest the throwback. I was always a huge fan of Pat the Patriot Minuteman about to snap the football. One of my favorites through the years in any sport.....

Not even one.. They are gross... Some guys like them but not me... I love to see a nice tan shaped body with no blemishes not even a tat... No blemishes on a nice fit tan body is just so clean looking... When I am in the present of one I start to thank "GOD" like I'm at the dinner table... for all that he has given us and the wonderful things he has created.

Shams, I'm not a big fan of chicks being covered with tattoos either...not my style. I can proudly say that aside from the one on my foot, if you saw me in a bikini, you still wouldn't know they were there.

Well then perhaps I didn't describe them well.

I was trying to describe them modestly. The cherries are LOW inside my hip bone...real low. Some of my underwear doesn't cover them, but my bathing suit most certainly does. Same story with the flowers. I had them done that way for a reason. Who knows what they'll look like as I age? Best to keep them hidden.

Tattoos gross me out. I don't have any. Same with body piercings. I had my nose pierced two years ago with a teeny tiny diamond stud, but there is nothing worse than a woman in her 30's trying to hold on to her youth by piercing her face. So I let it go. I have my ears pierced once, but rarely wear earrings.

I have no body piercings, not even my ears. I can't stand some of the ones I've seen on others - it's sometimes just painful to look at.

Well I have my ears pierced. I've thought about getting my nose pierced, but I'm prone to sinus infections and well, the thought of having an extra hole in my nose while dealing with one of those grosses me out.

Don't worry, the hole in your nose doesn't interfere with an influx of snot. What DOES sucks is rolling over on your pillow and ripping it halfway out of your nose.

I worry about the snot building up in the back of the stud....or boogies leaking out that hole...or just irritating it by constantly blowing my nose.....and I know about the second part. Belly button rings get stuck to sheets.

tattoos are for people lacking something and all regret it when they are older, some think it is cool but see no reason to have one. If you like experimentation get temp ones that only last for a couple of months.

haha, i meant that i dont get the whole pierced tongues, nipples, and other sensitive body parts, maybe i dont get it becoz i dont have the guts to have it done, haha
