Who are SBRs best cappers?
I dont know if anyone has any thoughts on this, but I am thinking of getting involved in US sports books/bets.
So, who would you recommend to follow on here and who would you recommend to maybe miss out.

theres quite a few good cappers here.
heres a few members that i can think of off the top of my head:
img is red hot right now.
RM18, and raiders is always solid.
as taco mentioned above, kgrock is on a dream run right now. he just turned $400 into $9,000+ in the past 2 weeks.

thats funny ... because I thought it should be here as well but then thought "what are the chances it will deteriorate" so I thoguht Id save the mods the effort of moving it to private.
Anyway, yes kgrock is having a run we all dream of but its the longer term cappers who Im interested in.
So far imgv, RM18 and raiders ...

Pags is white-hot in college hoops right now, kmdfox is a close second. Razz is best at college football, but I haven't tracked enough of his bball plays yet. Of course IMGV94 picks NFL games like he's ringing a goddamn cowbell. He did have a nice college hoops winner last week, though. I'd track all of these guys if I was you, and decide for yourself.

buddy and slacker, thank you...I try to stick with what I know, college football and college hoops...
I think imgv, razz and kmdfox are very good handicappers as well...buddy is an up and coming future star as well...
dan, I'm surprised I wasn't on your list, especially since it cost you 500 bones betting against...it's alright, going to have to whip your butt in this contest here...

Img, Dan, onlooker, Razz, rm18 and all are TFZ members for that reason. I'm forgetting some but those are the first that come to mind.
BTW- I've been mediocre as of late. I'm going to total it up soon.

Ive been up and down the last week. So dont feel bad.
We have a good group of guys here, so we just need to keep sharing info and posting them winning picks.
Bases should be another profitable season. Just hope it dont go square like the NFL did.

Illusion is the man I watch.
IMG can be streaky but definitely provides more good than bad. You will quickly be at 0 if you fade him.
Razz was immaculate during the college football season.
Raiders is a pro and you will do well if you listen to his picks regularly.
There are many others that provide quality information. I try to occasionally post some picks when I feel I have a good read. If my girl posts a pick, you would be well served to pay close attention. She's not just guessing...

why don't you guys just post your records in the best bets here. I think this is one fair way to judge who is what...
My NBA mls above +100 and spreads record for the season is 72-47-2, just above 60%, and totals 29-21-1 or 58%...

Agree, Adriano. Posting record would be cool. I'm also hitting about 59% of my plays in nba this season with +72 unit profit after about 150 bets.
Haven't really followed college hoops, so i don't know exectly who are the best guys in that sport, but there are many good ones here. In NBA betting i like Adriano and Alamorich, both guys write good writeups and has good knowledge of the sport. I'm also quite sharp if you don't mind me saying so
Imgv94 is the man in NFL and also picks good college hoop and NBA games

I'd like to see a section of this forum that is solely devoted to documenting posted wagers. Something that would have specific rules as to the information that must be provided for a record to be calculated. Some sort of added value to incentivise posting might also be nice...

Agreed. If a person's picks are going to have any real value as historical evidence of his picking ability then there needs to be a very objective set of standards put into place.
Here's what I'd suggest (And I've stolen extensively from sharpsportsbetting.com):
- Either all picks for all players should be placed in a single thread for each day OR all picks for one player should be placed in a single thread for each week.
- Picks should be limited to teams that can be recommended at readily available prices. "Readily available" means the price is available at a book either listed on SBRLines or on the SBR recommended list at the time the pick is made. We should only be interested in the unit record that can be achieved by following a player's advice; we should not be interested in the unit record of bets made at prices that cannot readily be found or can only be made at books where payout is a questionable proposition. We also should not be interested in picks that can only be made with the help of a time machine. We understand that someone who shops aggressively to bet picks will achieve a unit win rate higher than the unit win rate reported.
- For each pick, the betting number, the price, the sportsbook at which that pick is available, and the number of units wagered should all be listed. The number of units wagered represents the units put at risk that is the units which would be lost were the bet to lose. Units wagered can be fractional and should be limited to, let's say 5 units.
- After all the picks in a thread have been decided, either the player or a mod should post the unit results for posted picks for that time period (weekly or daily). Results should also be included for posted picks for that sport for the year to date. If using weekly threads then when a new thread is made the next week's games, the previous week's unit results and YTD unit results for that sport should be included. If using daily picks then the mod should post everyone's records for the previous day and for the YTD at the top of the thread.
- Picks can not be undone. If someone changes his mind about a posted pick he can pick the other side and eat the vig.
- Unit tallies should include units wagered, units won, and unit win % (units won/units wagered). It's unit win % (and not units won) that should be considered the operative statistic. Pushes can be ignored.
- Sides and totals should be combined into a single unit tally. Parlay and teasers should be combined into a separate tally.
- Win/loss records should only be posted in conjunction with both total units won and total units wagered. Unless you're only betting at a single price they are by themselves meaningless.
- Ideally, all picking should be done in a single forum, which can only be edited by mods.
Obviously, this is all a bit of a pain but if we really do want to accurately record performance statistics then we need to do so with at least a modicum of scientific rigor. And without accurate performance statistics then it's impossible to really tell whose picks to follow.
So I'm just tossing this out for further discussion. The picking system as it is now is just a mess. It's hard to find complete records for any given poster and even if you are so able results are seriously distorted by inconsistencies in between posters in picking and pricing and by huge deviations in unit size (if a player starts off a season with single units picks and ends the season with thousand units picks then his unit statistics aren't very likely to tell us anything of import.)

If the programmers needed extra work, they could implement a picking system using SBRLines. Each forum login would allow a player to make picks based upon currently available lines which could then be automatically tallied and graded. Results and standings could then be viewed by anyone. If a particular book were offering a contest the software could also be used for that purpose by limiting players to lines available from only that book.
This would be a fantastic addition to the site and as far as I know would be the only freely avalable software of its kind. I'd be happy to help spec it out or even to offer a bit of my programming help.

Tex +170 to win Big 12 and +1200 to win it all: Texas was 11-0 last year with it's only loss to Oklahoma. Oklahoma was loaded last year and lost almost the whole team to the NFL.
Heisman candidate QB Young returns. He's a dangerous runner who ran for 1079 yds at 6.5 yds/carry with 14 TDs. Young broke a Rose Bowl record last year in total offensive yards. Tex was the #1 rushing team in the Big 12 avg 299 yds/game.
They return 8 starters on a D and are a very strong on both the OL and DL. Steele has the Tex D line rated #2 in the country.
This is the year that Tex finally beats Okl and gets their shot at a National Championship.

Bears 10-1 to win Central but I can't find the post.
