Is becoming SBR PRO just a gimmick to get
you to deposit $200 into a sponsors book?
Because even if you get 6 extra points a day x 365 days that is 2190 points.
2190 at 5 cents a point is only an extra $109 dollars per year.
It's pretty much two free $50 dollar gift cards you are getting in a years time.
What are the real incentives?
Tell me something good.

Whats wrong with putting 200 in a book?? you still get the money..
BTP is worth like $500 alone..
Im just wondering why I put 200 in 5dimes, sent in my Pro App and it got declined??

i never had to deposit $200 into a new book. i already had the necessary funds in there to qualify for pro status.
sbr did this to benefit the people who bet with real money. they increased our daily points by 100% from 6 to 12, and increased the SBR store prices by 25-35%. a $250 freeplay used to cost 1000 points and now it costs 1250 points.
that trade off benefits the posters.

Of course the program is designed to get posters sending money to sponsors, that's obvious, I don't know I'd call it a gimmick though. More like a well thought out marketing plan. There's nothing wrong with it, players are being rewarded, SBR is making a little cabbage, the books are getting some action. They've designed this one of a kind point system, they'd be fools not to use it to help them build their site moving forward. Well done on all counts.

of course its a gimmick to get people to deposit money! Thats the whole point.
But for alot of people they are just getting rewarded for what they were doing anyways.

Break that down daily. Pennies/day.
People have point fever. What can you say.
I qualify to "be a pro". I don't care about points, need an extra push to hit submit. Bill Dozer, make me an offer.

good luck on that!
here's the way i look at it. 750 points will getcha $50 book cash. so at 12 points a day i'll be getting (if i choose) a $50 free cash every 62 days. that averages out to almost 6 free $50 cash plays per year for doing nada. and thats if you don't play at the sbr book. i will quickly turn that 750 points into double that before i purchase something.
so again, why not do it?

Well if you use the extra 2190 points to order 15 pizzas you will break even. The trick is to not lose the points in the casino or book. Also you have to be loggin in daily else you don't get points.

I see your point, and it's a valid one. Why doesn't everyone use point cards at gas stations when they can later redeem the points for gas or merchandise? Majority of people don't use them. I do use a Petro Points card but it's out of habit. Been racking the points up for years. I often fill up at Esso and don't have their card, never bothered to get one.
I just look at these points as they won't make a difference in my life. $50 sportsbook cash every two months you say. It's free money but money I don't need to 'get by'.

The program helps convince skeptic sponsors. New contests will focus on the Pro group. Imagine how hard it is to get sponsorships when many of the participants are not planning to ever join a sponsor. Now we go to them with this confirmed group of real players and their wallet kind of flys out.

Added site revenue. More posters from SBR posting up at advertised books more income SBR sees from said books. No brainer folks.

Does this mean that the last two years plan where posters were allowed to just open an account to enter contests without making a deposit had a high rate of posters never actually making a deposit with the sponsor?

Still waiting to be confirmed. Sent in Application Monday morning at 11. Haven't gotten any PM's about problems. I even had to join live chat at Bodog to figure out my account # since I use my email to login there. It seems I may have wasted 8 minutes of my life talking to bodog live chat, for SBR....8 minutes I'll never get back.

Of course I gamble with real money. This is about points. The only thing I've purchased with points was a donation to charity. I have never taken points into the sportsbook or casino. If I were to put 1000 points on a game, win or lose I would feel nothing. I've only wagered points for fun on the forum. The points are a nice perk for the posters. They just haven't won me over.
