I stopped watching or caring when Pinny pulled all the prop bets. I still have a bet on the good looking dude Micheal Myers or something like that.

I think that's pushing it a bit. What about the Caveman sitcom that stunk up the airwaves this past fall? Or Two and a Half Men? That is the worst, most predictable writing ever. Just terrible.

Must disagree, gents. The show is solid and there is some serious talent in little Mr. Archuleta. Get used to his face and voice. They will both grow to be quite familiar to the north american public in the years to come.

Your right those really sucked. I was flipping through the channels last night and I almost never get on the networks, but ABC had a really crappy show opposite the Idol. One of those staged home video joke shows complete with laugh track. Glad I was on my fourth merlot and 8th bong hit by then.

You're right, Buztah, the kid is great! Best part of the night for me - I could easily see him winning this thing.

For the rest of you, 30 million people watch Idol 2 nights a week, so it really can't be the "worst show on TV." It may not be your cup of tea, and for me, it's lost some of it's allure because I have to watch it because of my job, but it's not a terrible show. And it does pick up steam after they get rid of some of the people who really aren't meant to be performers.

Anyway, for those interested in Idol, or for those who just like me, here's the column on the Top 10 men:

Are we supposed to work for heavy rotation, or can I just assume that all of your story links are meant to be worked heavily?

Of course they all are - I like to be the most popular in everything I do!

With the popularity of American Idol, do you think any network would be stupid enough to put a legitimate show in this time slot?

Whether people completely hate or like the show, it is still insanely popular.

Why else would the newspaper have me on it.

Here's the Nielson ratings from last week, noting, of course, that the Oscars aren't on every week:

    1. (X) "Academy Awards," ABC, 32.01 million viewers.
    2. (1) "American Idol" (Tuesday), Fox, 29.01 million viewers.
    3. (2) "American Idol" (Wednesday), Fox, 28.89 million viewers.
    4. (X) "American Idol" (Thursday) Fox, 23.37 million viewers.

This show is a phenomenon in that close to 30 mil watch it TWO nights a week and more than 20 mil on it's third night. It's insane.

I eventually settled on a PBS show called Nova, around my area it was a show on reaching absolute zero temperature. I know america would never go for an educational viewing so Idol is safe but surely there are a few people who would like to have an educational experience from time to time. It can't all be Springer, MXC, and Intervention all the time could it?

Just because a show is popular doesn't make it good. There have been a bunch of poular things in life that upon looking at them from the distance of time people would say WTF was I thinking. For example the just about everything from the'80's.

I agree, RW. Was just pointing out that while it may not be the "thing" for many here, Buztah is not alone in watching this show.

I didn't see last night...but I have a hard time believing that anything can top Kelly Clarkson doing "Natural Woman"....unless Danielle Noriega try it...that could be fun.

swede, check out the link in my initial post. That performance blew everyone, past and present, out of the water. The voice, the passion, the charisma, the interpretation -- everything about it was sensational. I get goose bumps every time I play it. THAT is how good it is. For this degenerate to be moved like this -- hey -- the kid is da phucking BOMB! Yeah!
